Has nothing to do with the money, it's about the rush.

i don't know i guess for him it's about a rush. all i know is i don't get no rush when i place a bet, i just get fuckin pissed when i lose. i guess there is such thing as a gambling problem, but i just don't see how? i guess to each man his own, but i know one thing. if i was a lifetime loser i wouldn't be on here talking like my shit didn't stink.

I don't know if karma is a cosmic principle that automatically causes bad things to happen to people who treat others poorly. I do believe there is a natural social principle that causes us to be less happy in our lives when we try to take advantage of others.

When we were evolving in our early history it was the ones who helped others that made the people around them more likely to survive. Helping others helped the group become stronger as a social unit and better able to fend off things that were a danger to the group.

Sometimes the act of taking advantage of people is a symptom of the type of person they are. Bad things happen to them, like depression or compulsions of gambling not because of what they have done but because of who they are.

The ACE hardware store thread is now a classic with quotes like this:

This phenomenon is more common than most posters realize. I know of quite a few posters who went on bad runs and not only stopped playing but stopped posting along with it.

I can understand the psychology behind quitting both. Really going bad to the extent you need to go to family or friends to pay gambling debts can be traumatic and posting on a gambing forum just becomes a reminder of the experience.

Naturally I cannot mention names but you would be very surprised at some of the cases I have been made aware of. Often times I will email a poster who for no apparent reason stops posting here and that is when I find out that a bad run was in some cases the reason. Some cases not all is something I want to emphasize.

I will say that anyone hanging around a gambling forum and NOT gambling is just crazy!

These sites are great, but why would you tempt yourself if you are not going to bet? I totally understand why he wouldnt want to post if he isnt gambling. Of course owing VD $500 probably has a little more to do with it.

He funniest thread of all-time HAD to be when he was telling posters how he would go to the public library and rent CD's so he could increase his MP3 library. He claimed to have 50,000 songs. Of course why anyone would need more than 500 or so omn the MP3 player is beyond me.

But he said that ANYONE who wanted his collection of music, that he would sell it to them for only $50 at betjamaica I believe. You send him your IPOD and he will put all of his songs on your IPOD for only $50, only 5000 or whatever it was.

Now how illegal would that be?? Not only is Van Halen not making money off of their songs, BUT BROCK LANDERS is making money off of their music!!!

That was a classic. Can someone find that thread?? I am going to look, but i am not real adept at finding things

I found the thread, somehow i thought that this thread was like 2 years old, but it wasnt. Maybe he talked about going to the library to get CD's for free the year before that

Still owes me 500 bucks from last year's Celtics bet...have contacted him a few times but to no avail....what gets me was him ripping stiffs and then turns around and doesn't have the decency to contact me....
WHAT?

I bet him on the Lakers winning it all and i paid him up.

It was only 50 bucks but i would have sent it to you if i knew he was playing you.

I dont get it he bet me the Celts and you the Lakers?

Obviously they mean something to you since you commented on it! If they didnt mean anything, then you dont say anything.

I actually like Brock, but his IPOD thread and the library thread was a classic!
