All the sudden, it could very well be Texas and Texas Tech in the BCS Nat'l Championship. At this point, I'd rather Tech win out and Texas not have to go to the Big 12 Championship game, where Texas could possibly trip up. If I'm seeing it right, Tech wins out, we win out, it's done, because either Florida or Alabama is gonna lose. I guess Florida could jump Texas, but prolly not. Thoughts?

Florida is just behind Texas in the BCS ranking, just a small fraction of a point back. If they do win out it will mean they have beaten Alabama in the SEC title game. Doing that would almost certainly jump them over Texas.

The Longhorns' best hope for a rematch with the Red Raiders is for Mississippi State or Auburn to bump off the Tide, which is not likely to happen.

The second-best scenario is for Alabama to win out -- knocking the Gators down in the process -- OU to beat Tech and Texas to win out in impressive fashion.

Style points will matter, as that terrible coaches' poll (that's my least favorite part of the BCS formula, as coaches are about the only people in America guaranteed NOT to have seen all the top teams play, which is why many of them end up getting interns and such to handle their voting chores) has moved the Sooners ahead of the Longhorns.

Texas still has a ways to go to make the BCS Championship.

they have to have OU win out but still not make it ahead of Texas in the BCS Standings that will be hard but possible if voters compare Texas to OU and realize Texas beat them SU.

there are other wacky scenarios for the SEC to not send someone...such as Bama losing in regular season but beating UF in the SECCG. Or UF losing but beating Bama.

being number 3 right now is temporary for Texas but if they win out they should make a BCS bowl game.

There is NO WAY that two teams from the same conference much less from the same side of the same conference will ever play for the title.

Not a chance in hell.

If Florida wins out, they will be ranked #1. Tech and bama will both lose a game and UF would jump every team ahead of them.

Actually I think OU is in the drivers seat for the BCS game if they win out. Granted Texas won the head to head matchup. But OU is the only team who has played a number 22 TCU and number 25 Cincy teams. If Cincy continues to win out and win the Big East it makes OU's argument that much stronger. And it raises OU quite a bit in the computer rankings. Plus even though OU is behind Texas in the BCS, Texas no longer has any significant games to play. And OU still gets to play Texas Tech and OSU. I believe if OU beats both of these teams that they'll jump Texas in the BCS. Texas needs to hope OU beats Texas Tech and then loses to OSU.

BCS is a crock of chit.........all it is is the fucken coaches poll dressed up as some stupid formula......top 2 teams in the coaches poll will play for the title......if the BCS really worked and there was some formula then UGA wouldve never gotten jumped.....the pollsters jumped em and that was the end of it.

Texas cant have OU win and then lose. That would make TT/UT tied and TT goes. Texas' only scenario now is for OU to win out and UT ahead in the BCS standings.

At this point, Texas making a BCS game isnt even a given. If OU wins out, TT and OU could end up going to BCS bowls...although I think the BCS bowl would be better of selecting Texas since they would likely bring a much bigger crowd
