man, he was very upset, and said that Limbaugh "broke a trust".....Berman says he missed it, shouldnt have, he feels guilty......

Jackson said he didnt realize what was being said til too late......

I gotta say, i think they are over-reacting....i agree it was a little over the line what he said, probably inappropriate......But no different than when people of color refer to a boxer as "the great white hope".......we dont get them fired.......

His resigning was proabably the right move, but this isnt the end of the world.....The guys seeem more emotional about this than anything else going on in the world.....

I think they are over-reacting but Limbaugh is such a jerkoff he deserves to be grilled. What kind of a-hole actually listens that guy anyway?

TJ and Michael Irvin could have had the opportunity to tell Rush to his face what they thought. That was what Rush wanted, to plan a segment around the issue for today's show. TJ and Irvin declined, Rush resigned.

Those guys should have grown some balls and discussed this issue man-to-man. For that matter, they could have balled-up last week. Maybe they can't think fast enough to have a live, un-scripted debate.

p.s. McNabb is overrated as a quarterback. The Eagles defense has carried the team the last few years. Rush was right on the money and the boys can't stand the truth.

Guys, I usually don't watch ESPN before the Sunday games, but I am today because of the Rush controversy.

I have to say this, knowing it is politically incorrect, and knowing I will surely be labeled a racist.

That being said, Michael Irvin would not be on this show if he were white. His speech pattern brings to mind a stereotypical Amos 'n Andy type of parody. This guy is an idiot! His take on Emmitt Smith shows he has no clue. The defense of Terrell Owens is just more proof.

Let's recap. Michael Irvin, if he were white, would not be on national television as an analyst. White analysts are required to speak in a clear, concise fashion. They also must be able to use complete sentences and act in a respectable fashion.

If you think I am incorrect, watch this ESPN show for 5 minutes. Focus on Steve Young and Michael Irvin. I rest my case.

Last night, Saturday Night Live spoofed Rush. They had "him" saying the timing of this drug thing and his McNabb comments was bad. He doesn't want to go to prison after pissing off the blacks. LOL

Irvin is on the show because he was a former player and a former star and a personality - if you ever watched the Best Damn Sports Show you would see the guy is funny as shit - he is not on the show because he is black.

I agree with you. What I said, however, was that he would not be on the show if he were white. His ghetto gangsta bullshit would not fly for a white guy.

White former stars, funny or not, are held to a higher standard, with the possible exception of Terry Bradshaw.

Definitely a white babbling buffoon gangsta would not be allowed in the front door. But Micheal Irvin is considered entertaining. I don't think he is funny but he is more entertaining than the gorilla look alike Tom Jackson.

Michael Irvin funny?? I've seen The Best Damn Sports show many times and never heard anything remotely funny come out of his mouth.

I agree with Vini, if Michael Irvin were white he would'nt have even been interviewed for the job.

Michael is a uneducated man with a big mouth who likes to stir up controversy, kinda like Rush. That along with his color is why he has a job

i am a diehard broncos fan. i love TJ and got to meet him many times while i was working at ESPN. he is as great a guy as they come.

having said that - what he did sunday was a gutless chicken shit move.

way to go, TJ. insult the man AFTER the fact and AFTER he is gone. you got a problem with what he said - you say it WHEN IT HAPPENS! don't wait 1 week later when you now have time to think of what to say and he is not there. say it when he is there - or not at all.

this is like taking a punch from someone and then 1 week later when he isn't there - and after you have gotten brass knuckles - punching some old lady on the street for she was there!

gutless move TJ - gutless!
