Joe Gibbs interviewed when asked whether the missed FG cost them the game said "It definitely swung the momentum", but wouldn't blame the game on that play. I guess Gibbs saw what I saw

coach's and athletes say that all the time. They are wrong and if any coach or player can show me proof that it exist I will admit I am wrong.
Its just a saying that they like to use. It doesn't mean he is right.

Also this is the same guy that called 2 timeouts back to back isn't it. LMAO. Its just a cop out they should have played better.

A big game changing play and momentum is not the samething

So what is the difference between momentum and playing well?

burleson looked like moss on that play the way he pushed off, of course the ref standing right in front of the play didnt see it though.

Meh, consider it a makeup call for the missed PI call on the 2nd Washington INT play. Obamanu got raped before the ball was even close to getting there.

usc vs. asu this year

usc is completely dominating on the O and the D... ASU is hopeless early in the first half. ASU possession a little before the 50 yard line... 3rd and 10.... USC sacks them for an 8+ yard loss. but the 4th and 18+ is wiped out by a terrible call on a non-existant unsportmalike conduct penalty. First and 10 in USC territory.... USC D players are disgusted and lethargic. ASU players march down the field and score. USC ball.... USC O players are disgusted and lethargic. 3 and out... ASU ball. ASU marches down the field to score again.

that's the best example of momentum I can think of from this year. of course, USC went on to destroy them, proving that the better team wins in the end. but the momentum was there for at least 4 possessions

there was no pass int. called because the ball had no chance to get there, ball was so poorly thrown as were most of hasslebacks passes.

Would you momentum posters let us know who has momentum for the Sunday games? It helps to know prior to the games kick off. :ohno:

I was at that game, and after the 2nd wash TD, and then the kickoff that almost went for a TD, the crowd was pretty much silent. for about 20 seconds it seemed like most people were set to give up, but as soon as Seattle took the field on defense to force the missed fg the crowd was more crazy then it had been all game.

Momentum is only important due to confidence it gives one team and takes away from the other team. A confident team will beat a team that is reeling and confused almost all the time. Which is why great teams are not affected as much by a change in momentum, because they are still just as confident as when they were up.

LOL you fucking serious? He couldn't get to the ball because Springs tackled him with the ball still yards away from both of them and Landry who picked it off. That was a miscall, plain and simple.
