Don't be to hard on yourself, in the RX CFB Challenge, 20 people selected CMU and 1 selected Syracuse. CMU was the most selected team of the week.

here's a hindsight fact (and i am OP who posted that i made terrible pick)

MAC is 86-111 ats non-conference since (including) 2011. cmichigan is especially bad, but of course that was a real down period for that program. but the entire conference wasn't down or up really for that period.

contrast it with the sun belt (the traditional names not as it is today) which i think has been non-conference ATS gold.
