I firmly believe that a kicker can never be blamed for a loss in football unless they miss extra points. They were two TD favorites. A lot of people didn't do their job.
These FGs were pretty much PATs
But you're right, after halftime the defense couldn't stop anything and the offense was pretty much non-existent except for the "hail mary" to Titus Young 2sec. before the end of regulation. They also were on the wrong end of a couple of really bad (non) calls (primarily talking about the muffed punt, that should have been ruled a fumble instead of interference and the non called PI, when a Nevada defender turned Titus Young him around by grabbing the facemask on a deep pass by Kellen Moore) by the refs, so this shouldn't be just pinned on Brotzman alone.
Although I'll never understand why so many of these college teams hand out tons of scholarships, try to recruit every halfway decent offensive/defensive player and aren't able to find someone, who is able to hit chipshot FGs. Besides LSUs Jasper and a handful other kickers, every FG from 30+ yards out feels like a cointoss, when it actually should be like 80% from 30-40yards out.
