Not sure how to spell it and not too concerned how its spelled but would you trade Nash for Raheem.

My situation currently has me starting Kidd, Hamilton and Nash at G but Artest, Howard and Ratliff at F. I also have Cassell and Christie whom I could start at G so I wouldnt be too worried about losing Nash and I do need forwards....

Would you trade Nash to get Shareef?

Slim, I love fantasy sports and play in a whole bunch of leagues with many different skilled players. To answer your question, you are very deep at guard. Nash is a great player, but Dallas is filled with great players (Nowitzki, Finley, Jamison, A. Walker) There are alot of guys on that team that are going to be scorers and Nash will be solid, but will only help you in a few categories. Abdur-Rahim is a stud. He is a stud that is coming into his own. He has been predicted to have a great season this year. He scores, grabs boards, blocks shots and most importantly he is a power forward. i am not sure if your league associates the difference between small and power at the forward spot, but if it does, Abdur Rahim is even more valuable because of the lack of depth at that position. You need a forward and if I were you, I would most definitely accept that trade. Good luck to you

Very cool write up Wiz, I too am a big fan of this stuff and really get into it specially when playing with other people I know. Its funny but I agree with pretty much everything you say. I'll hold to see if I get other opinions but I think I'll go for it.

If anyone has a reason why I shouldnt do this, holla...

I agree with Wiz Kid. atlanta is going to be really bad this year and without big dog, the only other offensive weapon is jason terry. so shareef's touches, shots and points should all go up this year. should be a good fantasy league player.

Oh, please !

Have you seen Dallas play without Nash ? He's the guy that makes that team go.

If he wasn't on the court, the only way they competed at all last year was if Van Exel, Finley, or Nowitzki got a super hot hand from the outside.

Having said that, Fantasy is a whole different ballgame, and bums like Antoine Walker end up being more valuable than they are in real life.

Yeah bums like Antonine Walker hit 5 threes last night in their debut. You are correct, Nash is a leader and so was Mateen Cleaves at Michigan State. That does not make these guys great fantasy players. Like I said before Nash is great, but Slim needs a forward, and Abdur-Rahim is going to get many touches and score many points at the Power Forward position. There are not alot of good ones out there, I would get one while I had the chance. Fantasy sports is a whole new game. Those guys on Dallas are gunners, Nash will see about the same amount of minutes because they have a deep rotation. He will also see less shots than he did last year because Walker and Jamison will no doubt get there fair share in when they have the ball

Just to clarify, I agree with what you guys are saying. I'd never trade Nash for Rahim in real world.

But in fantasy league I would. Nash has to share the ball more this season and Rahim has to share it less.
