Hey gentleman. Don't post much, been a lurker for years (though I am posting my winning baseball plays for all to see this season :)

but I have a question if you all would not mind providing some feedback. Would you pay a monthly fee (let's call it $100) to join a private "gamblers lounge" in your city?...basic idea is that you would join and be able to sit and hang out with like minded individuals, read gambling materials (print and online) and of course sports would be on, perhaps beer served, cigar room etc. Special perks from off shore books, etc.

thanks for any and all feedback on this. also let me know if you have any questions. thanks.

No I can do that anywhere from my phone at therxforum.com w-thumbs!^
thanks for the response. I was thinking many on here may say that and I truly understand it. I am wondering if members on here are more "stay at home" type guys but maybe there are other types that wanna be out somewhere interacting with people in person.

That may have come off harsh, but the idea needs some work.

pound,,,

heres the problem with your concept,,,

How many here watched the video of a professional gambler speaking/Debating a sportsbook manager? it was a GREAT setup,, I think 1 of the guys might of been from SBR??? I cant recall,, anyway, it was probably 4 years ago,,, there was 4 professional gamblers, and they sat on a stage speaking with a prominant sportbook manager,,

and 1 of the guys, who was well known for being sharp began arguing with the sportsbook mgr, complaining that he was limited,,, and thought that was a bullshit move,,, (the MGR had just said they take all bets),, WELL YOU DONT TAKE MINE!! you collard me at 5000 a play,,, down from the 10-20 he wanted to play,, the MGR said, we still let you play,,, do you want to explain 1 of your systems you use for NBA??

and of course, the pro said HELL NO, You want me to lose an angle? Im not up here to give away my secrets?

my point, "REAL professional handicappers" wont ever say shit,,, and probably want nothing to do with a place like that,,,
***************************************

NOW,,, having said that,,, you want to charge 100 a month to a private SPORTS CLUB/BAR, with tvs, beers, and private rooms so guys can get handys/BJs/ and BANG the servers??? AND also talk sports and angles and trade systems and theories,,,

NOWWWWW you might have something,, lol,,, I would pay 1000 a month for a private club like that!!! hahaha

Tate,

So you would go if you could POUND, but find my idea FOOLISH? Ha.
Thanks for the feedback.
I did not think the 20k player would be there mixing with the other patrons giving them secrets, just thought maybe like minded individuals would like to gather to watch sports, perhaps drink/smoke, shoot the shit with other gamblers, get perks from books, other gambling outlets, but based on getting a couple responses here, doesn't sound like there would be much interest.

I lean no as well, just doesn't seem like something that would generate the commitment that would be required to make it work

Plus a lot of us already have a full plate

Lots of information left out of this:

Hours of Operation
Would it be a business location, an apartment, someone's basement? What kind of an establishment is this?

What are the gambling materials you are referring to? Are we talking books, newsletters, or some joe's picks?

What type of sports would be on? Would you have horse racing? How many TV's are we talking about, 3 or 4 or 20-25?

Beer Served .... is it free or do I have to pay on top of the $100?

What special perks from offshore books? This is a tricky one because you would be promoting gambling and you likely aren't going to be able much more than what is already out there, most wouldn't join for this "perk"

Would there be security? Proper parking with lighting ?

What cities?

What are you looking to make off this by trying to start this up? People are going to want to see paid leases not pay and then they come and the place is locked up and their money gone.

Answer these and you may get some different replies than flat out fuck no's.

Sounds like my weekly poker club but I have to admit that sometimes it costs me more than $100. Seriously, it is a pretty big group and a lot of the things you mentioned take place.

Don't know where you live but there is a good chance that something like that is going on near you. Lived in 4 different towns/cities and every place has had a group of guys, and actually a few women who would play. You gotta know somebody to get in and send the wife and kids away when it is your turn to host
