If I said at the start of the baseball season that 3 of the leading AL MVP candidates near the All Star break would be:

Carlos Quentin
Milton Bradley
Josh Hamilton

Not crazy. Well a little bit for Quentin. I've been pumping up Hamilton all offseason and Bradley is as talented as anyone but can't stay healthy. I really thought both could have great seasons. Never saw Quentin coming though. He was a top prospect but I just didn't see much out of him last year.

A little bit for Quentin? Umm no way anyone would have thought he would have sniffed an all-star appearance, let alone MVP conversation.

Only reason he made the team is because Owens got hurt right before the season started. Guy is putting together a great year by his and others' standards. Especially with Thome not producing anywhere near what they thought he would, Quentin has been the man, although just as if not more credit should be given to Dye.

"Major Leaguers are Triple AAA players that got an opportunity." - Quentin lives and breathes this statement, I'd say.

Yea I said I never saw that coming later on. I think he'll struggle in the 2nd half quite a bit as well. Hamilton will keep hitting and Bradley will get hurt. Those are my predictions.

With your track record on predictions, I'm relieved because I really like Quentin and Bradley. Oh shit.

MVP will come down to Hamilton and A-Rod.
