Take the top 16 teams and put them in the playoffs.
Maybe look something like this with 1st round matchups:
#1 Boston versus #16 Philadelphia
winner of that series plays winner of
#8 Houston versus #9 Dallas
#4 San Antonio versus #13 Cleveland
winner of that series plays winner of
#5 LA Lakers versus #12 Golden State
#2 Detroit versus #15 Toronto
winner of that series plays winner of
#7 Utah versus #10 Orlando
#3 New Orleans versus #14 Portland
winner of that series plays winner of
#6 Phoenix versus #11 Denver
or maybe re seed after every round.
The key question is would you rather see them put the 16 best records in the NBA playoffs or stay with the curent format? Most year's it seems they get it close too right but this year there seems to be a HUGE difference in conferences.
