Would Robin Williams have been selfish if he did it in the hospital parking lot and donated all his organs?

Question for the people that think he was selfish. If he had blown off his head and his organs could be saved, would he still be selfish?

Now that is a good response. How do the people who think RW was selfish respond to that?

When people say that suicide is selfish, many times they are referring to the incalculable damage it does to the surviving spouse and kids.

Robin donating organs does very little to help the surviving family.

WTF. Why is it a stupid post? I'm asking a legitimate question to all the self-righteous pricks.

Lol. They say suicide is selfish to the family. You think the family would get closure with him donating his organs? They might, but a little off. But that's cool. Lol

How ya been bud?

I don't know why it's so much worse than any other kind of death. Yeah, it sucks, but in most cases, you know the person was really suffering and would be miserable if they had stuck around. Is that worse than a guy that has everything going for him and dies in a car accident? I think it's kind of selfish to ask someone to keep fighting if they were just out of fight.

I think it would be selfish if you left a train wreck behind. But if you planned it accrdingly and did it, more power to you.

Remember that guy that kept a diary of his suicide? He shot himself at the police station. He had like 1 year of journal entries, up until the end.

Interesting and strange he had his day picked fir death, where 99.999% of us dont

Funny how some people feel to right to judge others by actions that only matter to themselves and loved ones. Team Illini. Btw, did JC ever answered the insurance question?

One thing that I've heard people talk about is the incalculable guilt the family feels, wondering if they could have done something to prevent the suicide. With a car accident, you don't wonder if you could have personally prevented it.

Hmmm, I'm guessing this thread originated out of an argument in the 14 page thread below discussing Robin Williams' suicide. I havent ventured into that.

However, I dont think it's really fair to call his (or anyone else's) suicide "selfish."

We have no idea what was going on in his brain. He obviously had issues. He'd been battling depression and probably heavily medicated for years. There's just no way to know what kind of chemical imbalance (or whatever else you want to call it) he had going on. It's easy to say he was "selfish" because you would never do it. But perhaps our brains are different.
