Earlier this year in the spring (I found out just recently) I believe my son (he's 24) did a credit card deposit at Bodog which he lost immediately and then declared fraud charges to the bank so they block it. So I have just found out the other day that (I was trying to deposit by E-check at Diamond) that my name has been put on fraud list and now I am getting blocked from some deposits. First I like to ring my stupid-ass son neck for this. We are totally separate accounts with Bodog but I guess because of last name and he does use my address for mail that my name got included. Having a hell of time trying to get my name off that lists and as I have always been in good standings with all books on deposits. I know I should probally pay the amount of the fraud he did ($700 I think). Just curious on some opinions and maybe also a warning to others who have family member betting. Thanks

Same last name + same address + chargeback = Sucks to be you

I would venture a guess that paying off the chargeback is your only option.

This is what Bodog has sent me in response for this. I am basically screwed.

Thank you for contacting Bodog Financial Services.

Your Bodog account has been linked to another Bodog account that has used the same computer. Since the linked account has an issue with Bodog, we are unable to make any adjustments to your account until this issue is cleared up.

However, please note that the other site can make an exception for you to deposit if they choose to do so.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at 1-866-502-3365.

Best regards,

That's even worse-they have an IP match on your accounts.
You're right-you're screwed.

You can thank the multi-account bonus whores for basically giving you no way out of this. I don't think there's a book in the world that would bend on this one.

first of all, even if it's your son, get him to pay back the debt and teach him that's what a man is about, honoring your debts. You should note that it was a pussy thing he did and that nobody likes a rat in this world. Tell him the next time he wants to think big, he better have the funds to cover his ass.

Give him a good smack for playing at Bodog too.

Tell your kid to be a man and pay his debt. I'm sure you didn't teach your kid to steal and commit fraud. Basically the same as if your son walked into a store and stoled $700 worth of merchandise.

Talk about a stiff. You know you're a stiff when you can find a way to stiff a post up book.

Pay the 700 and then beat the living shit out of your son. He deserves it.

Make your son pay the debt plain and simple.

My dad first allowed me to bet my first game when I was 12 years old on my Birthday. He gave me $150 betting account. He told me one lesson in gambling. You never bet with money you don't have and you always pay your losses. He told me as long as I followed rule #1, then rule #2 will be easy to follow.

In college I got deep into a bookie. Some may remember me starting a thread about how I was $1500-2000 in the hole to this bookie.

I remember calling my dad, I was in tears about the money I had lost.

He said, "remember when you were 12 and I told you those two rules?"

Of course I did and he said now that you have broken the 1st rule of gambling that I told you, you are stuck with rule #2 now you better figure out a way to pay your debt.

I worked 40 hours a week and took classes full time for 2 months to pay off that debt. As a college student let me tell you that was a lesson that was hard to learn.

Moral of the story I am a better person for that and thanks to the values that my dad has taught me I am a better person and I thank my dad everyday for that. Please do the same and teach your son some values.

Now is this the real situation, or did you either A) Get drunk and do somthing you shouldnt have, or B) Have a problem and dont want to pay debt? Any parent with common sense would make their kid pay the debt if that was the case, I mean i'm only 23 and I could tell you that plain and simple.... Are you or "your son" one of them guys i laugh at on creditwagering????

More sound advice with which few of us could argue

This is a great story to share.

The last time I bet on credit was with a local in Dallas the year the Giants beat Buffalo in the Super Bowl.

I remember distinctly because I got about $400 down to this guy betting NBA and NFL and then he cut me off. Over the month of January I worked overtime hours to pay him back $100 a week.

He was very cool about it and even had me and my wife over as guests for a Super Bowl party. He offered to let me continue with PostUp balance, but I declined and didnt' make another sports bet until I could post up online in 1999.
