-J Michaels struck out swinging.
-M Lieberthal struck out looking.
-R Ledee hit for R Cormier.
-R Ledee grounded out to second
-J Thome hit sacrifice fly to right, J Rollins scored.
-P Burrell walked, B Abreu to second.
-D Bell singled to center, B Abreu scored, P Burrell tagged out at second......
WHY NOT BRING IN SMOLTZ TO FACE dAVID bELL....

youre saying smoltz should have come in the 8th to get them out of the jam. yea, he should have had smoltz come in i can agree with that.

I was watching the game thinking the other manager goofed. Chase Utley is a very effective power hitter, having him bunt down two late in the game made zero sense, but it worked out. I don't get it, when you only have 6 outs left, why give one up just to get a non-tying run into scoring position? Only time I would do that is with a pitcher and pitchers don't hit in situations like that. Oh well, I had the over and lost when the Braves couldn't get the run home in the 10th.

I think Cox was hesitant to use Smoltz in the 8th as he had a two inning save the night before. I agree with you as what is one more out. Torre would have used Rivera guaranteed.
