Wow. The Lams return. Absolutely poor performance by the players & coaches. I want to single out Sammy Watkins tho. He is just like Mike Wallace, who I would always complain about trying to catch balls w/out extending his hands. So a defender just has to get in the way of a ball & there’s no chance for a completion. Plus Watkins had a SU drop for a TD as well. Gurley also had issues catching all gm. LA really wilted under the spotlight. Bortles looked like Bortles blowing that spread for me, while TEN pulled off the improbable w/a 18 pt comeback in 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half. LA also murdered by teaser, which is why I should’ve obeyed one of my main tenets of not putting POW in my teaser.
Playoffs POW 0-1, Teasers 0-1, Overall 1-3.
MIN -5 has been very good to bettors in recent yrs covering 71% ATS. I was the lucky recipient of a bunch of those, going back to when Favre was slinging it in MIN’s last NFC championship appearance. Obviously that’s not an indicator to go all in vs the hot Saints, but there’s a reason behind it. They play consistently good “D” & don’t make many mistakes in all 3 phases. NOR lost here in Wk 1, but are a far different team now w/improvements in run gm & on “D”. But I believe MIN is driven here, not only for Keenum & Latavius to prove they’re legitimate players in this league, but for MIN in general, who have endured painful PO exits dating back to that NFC championship gm against NOR. I believe they get over the hump not only here, but to also go on to the SB.
