Goodness, what a finish! A total up & down emotional roller coaster ride, up to the possible extra pt kick to win the POW! Alas, it was a push, which I will gladly take seeing as it was an utter loss just 6 seconds before the “Minneapolis Miracle.” PHI rode their “D” to a nice win over ATL & TEN was absolutely hosed by 2 critical calls in 1[SUP]st[/SUP] half to blow open the gm for NE. Teaser helped put me over the hump, which was on life support thanks to TEN & PIT covering their spreads in the final seconds.
Playoffs POW 0-1-1, Teasers 1-1, Overall 3-4-1.
MIN -3 benefited from the most famous whiff in the history of the NFL. Now I believe they’re a team of destiny. I was almost not going to cap this matchup, but that’s definitely not me. There are subtle edges that MIN should take advantage of, even on the rd against a very motivated PHI team. PHI’s “D” is fantastic, but their secondary is the weakness w/out a doubt. They struggle against double moves & both Thielen & Diggs are masters @ that. Keenum also holds I think a significant edge over Foles, not just based on #’s but due to Keenum’s playing time over the course of the season. He’s hardened from facing good “D”s all yr & working w/his teammates. Foles just came in w/the starters 3 gms ago & actually had his best gm when he came in cold against the NYG. One key edge Keenum has over Foles is on 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] down. Foles’ 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] down conversion rate is half of Keenum’s, so when MIN’s “D” (which is #1 on 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] down) surely puts PHI in that situation, you can expect lots of punts & FG attempts. MIN has the edge everywhere except in the running gm & hm field. Throw in K Jake Elliot’s extra pt adventures & MIN should pull out a tight one to get to MIN for the SB.
