Went 2-2 last wk, with my #1 & 2 going down like Chinatown. Very sad my Fins lost, but at least I can take emotion out of capping the rest of the way. However, I do have a grudge against BAL now!
The lines are pretty sharp IMO, so my POW will be a total. I really like 2 unders, but I'm going with PIT/SD Under 38. It's always hard to score in chilly, windy Heinz Field, but now with Ben having head problems, and LT out for SD, it looks even harder. Combine that with SD's "D" playing the best it ever has without Merriman, and expect a FG, field position gm to get one of these teams to the AFC Finals. I know Sproles did MVP work for SD vs IND, but PIT's "D" is a different story. And Heinz Field is a lot sloppier than SD's stadium. So I expect Sprole's speed to be neutralized. In fact, I think Bennett will have just as many carries as Sproles, because he can not take the beating PIT will give him the entire gm. Esp if he's expected to return kicks as well. Speaking of special teams, PIT has the #1 kick coverage, and #4 punt coverage units in the league. SD's Mike Scifres showed last wk why he's been an elite punter for many yrs. Again, this all plays into field position, which is great for Unders. Throw in the fact that this is a winner-moves-on situation, and the coaches won't want to give up field all gm, being content with punts, FG's, and conservative play calling. SD played field position with IND, who has a worse "D", and better "O" then PIT!
SD 9
PIT 12
I originally liked PIT -6, but that's looking more shaky due to PIT's inability to run, their bad oline, Ben's concussion, and SD's resurgent "D". I'll just cheer on the "D" instead.
BOL all!
