What a shock. A perfect wk followed by an embarrassing GOY loss. Extremely hard luck w/Hoyer going down on Thurs gm, then I sorely underestimated MIN’s horrendous oline. PHI plays much better @ hm, esp on “D”, so that was a lesson re-learned. MIN’s “D” absolutely dominated Wentz & co, but Bradford’s TOs & 2 huge STs gaffes greased the MIN skids. As they say, it’s better to be lucky than good & I have zero luck so far this season.

POW 3-3-1, Teasers 5-2, Overall 17-12-2, GOY 0-1.

NE (-6) hasn’t skipped a beat since the return of Brady. Gronk is back healthy as well & getting into a groove w/his BFF. Belicheat is up to his usual great game planning where he attacks a team’s weakness whether it be an individual player or the entire opposing “O” & “D”. Brady passes 40 & 35 times for more than 350 yds each vs CLE & CIN, then throws only 26 times for 220 yds against PIT (where NE ran it 29 times for 140 yds). I have a feeling NE will do the same vs BUF after Ajayi ripped them for over 200 yds on the ground, ironically the same result following PIT’s miserable defense of Ajayi the wk before. Running the ball should also help keep upstart DE Lorenzo Alexander @ bay, who leads the NFL in sacks. BUF’s bread & butter is their run gm, which sets up Taylor for some deep hits. But McCoy is doubtful & even his backup Gillislee is nursing a bad foot. On “D” BUF will be missing safety Williams in the secondary which should only help both the run gm & thru the air for NE. Gronk can tie the franchise TD record & Brady can tie Favre in dominance over 1 team in this gm, but it is the fact that BUF has not swept the Patsies since Belicheat arrived in ’00 that should paint the likely outcome in BUF.

BUF 16

Honorable Mentions:

1 Unit DAL -5: Here we go again. I’m going w/a hot team off the bye. The difference here is DAL’s oline is lightyears better than MIN’s, or PHI’s for that matter. Elliot will pace the gm on the ground & the return of Dez Bryant will only help w/removing coverage from everyone else. DAL’s “D” has been improving as the season rolls on, w/the big difference being in their secondary. PHI is a different team on the rd & DAL has done well against some very functional “O”s in CIN, GB & WAS.

1 Unit NOR +1 ½: Upset call as NOR led by Brees has a history of playing well vs winning teams @ hm. SEA’s “O” is really hurting due to their oline & Wilson playing thru an injury. Carroll should prob consider sitting him one wk to heal. Even their robot kicker Hauschka has missed some easy ones this season. NOR LB Robertson has been doing well since replacing the Animal Laurinaitis. This should still be a high scoring gm, but SEA is limping into a back to back rd gm in one of the hardest places to win. SEA will also be w/out LB Bennett, who provides QB pressure as well as run support.

1 Unit OAK PK: This was another upset pick until the sharps & public bet the number down. Very simple here; one of the best rd teams vs one of the worst hm teams. OAK’s “D” is improving while TB’s performance on both sides of the ball was a mirage vs the hapless Niners last wk. Should be another close one, however.

1 Unit MIN/CHI Under 40 ½: Plenty of action this wk! Love this play tho, as both “O”s are limping in against very good “D”s. Both teams need the win too, so play calling should be conservative, esp after TO heavy gms for both teams last wk. There are all kinds of injuries on both team’s “O”s & weather could be a factor too (wind).

1 Unit Wormy Teaser:

WAS +15 ½
DET +14
OAK +13
DAL +8

Thanks for posting and good luck. I agree with your picks, however unfortunately I disagree that the Saints have much home field advantage anymore. But I will be in the Dome tomorrow and believe we will get a W.

Thank you Saints. Indeed NOR is not what it once was @ hm, but they still perform well ATS vs winning teams @ hm. You'll be @ the gm, so you can actually influence this one! Cheer hard & show the Seachickens what a loud stadium really is!
