Boy did SEA take the foot off the pedal in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP], per their norm. The 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Q is what I expected when I capped that gm. SEA “O” 2 dimensional (Wilson HR throw & run gm) which CIN should have had no problem stopping & CIN vertical “O” eventually too much for SEA to handle. Unfortunately that silly fumble TD, 69 yd Rawls TD, and blown coverage on Kearse’s 30 yarder put CIN in a crazy hole @ hm. That’s how the NFL goes & I feel incredibly lucky to have pushed. Teaser won easily, but it was an overall hard luck day as my 3 losses & tie were a combined 4 ½ pts away from being perfect.
POW 3-1-1, Teasers 1-2, Overall 11-13-1
ARI (-3 ½) is off to a torrid start, despite their slip against div rival STL. And that was truly a gm that ARI overlooked w/sloppy play in all 3 areas. That’s not going to happen here. Arians was unceremoniously dumped by Tomlin in PIT, where his former HC told the media that Arians was “retiring.” In Arians’ retirement, all he’s done is amass a 22-11 record, take his team to POs twice, & win COY twice including once as an interim HC (which he is the only one to accomplish that). All of that in only 3 yrs & a host of QBs. Revenge clearly on Arians’ mind, I believe he’ll have his team focused & ready despite being on the rd. The team stayed in W Virginia after blowing out the Lions, which I view as added focus on this gm. PIT on the other hand is off a short wk & emotional, primetime win @ SD. Tomlin is soaking in his decision to run the ball w/seconds left in the gm, & Vick is patting himself on the back for leading his team to its 1[SUP]st[/SUP] win of the yr w/out Big Ben. If Vick & PIT coaches think they can sit back on their run gm to take this one they’ll be terribly disappointed. ARI “D” is 11[SUP]th[/SUP] vs the run & have allowed 2 rushing TDs all yr. This is against some nice RBs too, like Gurley, Ingram, Hyde & Forte. Also not boding well for Vick & co is he’s been sacked 9 times in 3 gms, & ARI has 11 INTs on their resume. ARI just picked up Dwight Freeney, who is expected to play on passing downs. His best days are behind him, but if there’s anyone that can get the most out of old players, it’s Arians. On the other side of the ball, PIT owns the 13[SUP]th[/SUP] worst pass “D” & have allowed 9 TDs thru the air (that’s almost 2 TDs per gm). PIT’s young corners will surely be tested against ARI’s uber talented WR corp. S Will Allen being out will certainly not help. If PIT doesn’t force TOs or pressure Palmer, they will dig a hole that forces Vick to pass more. Things will get ugly at that pt, esp if Vick continues to ignore the best WR in the gm in Antonio Brown (this is killing me in fantasy).
