Oh Burrow, how I misunderstood you. Whether it’s the injured calf or lack of practice time (likely both), he is far from himself. If he just played a mediocre gm, CIN would’ve come out on top. 5.4 ypa is not going to beat BAL. I don’t care for Mixon, but he’s carrying the “O”. NYG almost crapped the bed in ARI, but luckily ARI’s holes on both sides of the ball finally showed up in 4th Q to keep both my Teaser & survivor pick alive. A 68-yd broken play TD for Garrett Wilson in the 2nd Q torpedoed my Under, which was turning into a FG-fest. Thankfully my other 2 big plays hit, w/NYG the only one threatening my Teaser, & MIA taking care of business in primetime (thank you “D” & Mostert). TB also handled CHI @ hm, sending Baker to 2-0. I wasn’t able to post my Thurs play again, going w/SF -7 over NYG. I desperately need to get out of my POW funk, however.
Regular Season POW 0-2, Teasers 1-1, GOY 0-0, Overall 5-6 (7-6 Undocumented)
MIA -6 ½ is off to a blistering 2-0 start, & beginning to become the NFL’s darling. That’s always worrisome, as early hot starts can come crashing down in a single wk. Enter the Broncos. DEN is an opposite 0-2 & in desperate need of a win. The reason why I feel it doesn’t come here, despite Russell’s improved play under Payton, is injuries to their safeties & DT Purcell. These are key players for this “D”, esp in getting pressure on the QB & covering deep routes. Those 2 things are disastrous against this high-flying MIA “O”. Now, Waddle is out w/a concussion, so this will be the 1st time Tua plays w/out both of his stud receivers. But, Tua & McDaniel have been spreading the ball around, w/Berrios making huge plays to complement the dynamic duo. River Cracraft is an unheralded WR as well, w/great hands & solid YAC. More importantly, McDaniel now has a solid run gm led by Mostert. Their gameplan against Belicheat’s 3-deep coverage last wk was fantastic, riding the legs of Mostert & rookie Achane. So if DEN manages to contain the Cheetah & Tua, MIA can very well rely on the run gm to keep the “O” on the field. Not to mention that the gm could start w/thunderstorms, & rain throughout. Interesting matchup between the DCs, as Fangio & Vance Joseph are going against their old teams. The difference is Vance is an idiot. When MIA spent a bunch of money on “D” in ’16 & handed that over to Joseph, he rewarded us w/the 29th worse “D”. After that tragedy of a season, DEN somehow believed he’d make a great HC. I thought, GL w/that! In 2 yrs he went 11-21. Sorry, venting a little. Wilson could make some big plays downfield where MIA can make head-scratching mistakes, but I feel Fangio will have the rt gameplan (keep him in the pocket) & possibly force a few TOs to take this by 10+. LT Terron Armstead & star DE Jaelan Phillips return to boost MIA’s chances of staying undefeated. This would've been a GOY if not for Waddle injury & rain.
