Man does Singletary have this team playing with fire. SF looked terrific on "D" the entire gm vs a truly high-powered "O". ARI got smacked in the mouth, and they didn't know how to respond. Now they have to go on the east coast road to avoid going 0-2. Yikes.

Anyway, Wormy Pix POW starts off 1-0.

This wk, I like the Ravens +3 1/2. BAL couldn't gameplan for the brand new "O" & "D" KC was sporting with Croyle, so they had a hard time adjusting. But, you had to like what you saw of Flacco and the BAL oline. Although plays broke down, Flacco still made key completions, most notably the TD throw to McGahee. And despite KC keeping the gm very tight, BAL still stuck with the run. And what a run gm they have, with McClain (yipee kyay), Rice and McGahee eating up clock behind a very solid line with newcomer Matt Birk @ center. I guess I could talk about their "D", but what haven't you heard already? On paper, BAL gave up 24, but 1 TD was a blocked FG return, the other was from the BAL 6 yd line after a long INT return. Then, thanks to a 50 yd pass play, Succop kicked a 53 yd FG. KC's only true scoring drive was in the 4th, helped by a 15 yd roughing the passer penalty. So BAL's "D" didn't struggle. However, SD's did. Running away from NT Williams, OAK had a pretty good rushing day (150 yds). And unlike KC, OAK had many sustained drives, and they scored on all of them except for a silly INT by Russell in the redzone, and a FL by McFadden. Merriman was inaffective, and TE Zach Miller had a big day. Heap had a big day for BAL too. SD's "O" might be able to save the day, but they'll most likely need to do it w/out All-World C Nick Hardwick (critical to run gm), RG Vasquez, and LT (also critical to run gm, despite what most fans say about the 30 yr old). If BAL can keep Sproles inside the tackles, SD will be forced to be 1 dimensional, which is never good with Ed Reed roaming the secondary. I know RB Bennett is supposedly doing good in practice, but c'mon. Plus, bettors gotta love Harbaugh for running in a TD on 4th down to cover the 13 pt spread, instead of kicking a FG to go up by 10 with a minute left.

BAL 23
SD 17

BOL all, and as always, comments are welcome.

Plus, Ravens have some offense now. What are the odds on them to win it all? And....why not?

Nice write up and info. I've decided to stay off this one as going against the Chargers at home after such a lack luster performance seems dangerous. So the raven's D didn't give up all the points, but still a lot on turnovers. I still think your right on your play. Wasn't in game two last year that the Chargers got screwed by the refs and started out the season 0-2?

good luck

skinsfan: BAL is +1500 currently. Who knows? BAL has the balance necessary to get hot around playoff time, and they almost made it last yr. But I think the absence of Rex Ryan will ultimately doom them when they play the big boys. You're right tho, why not?

United: I would agree with you normally on going against SD, but with their injuries, this is a wounded duck. You're also correct on the BAL TO's, but with a wk to work on that (esp with OC Cam Cameron), and a more hyped opponent, I believe BAL's "O" bounces back to have a great gm. And if Ed Hochuli calls the gm, more power to me! LOL! But, SD can afford to go 1-1 in the AFC West.

XRS: GL to us.

Honorable Mentions:

TEN -6 1/2: HOU may have a bounce back, but highly unlikely as HOU tends to start the yr slow anyway, and TEN does well in their first matchup. I think a lot of people are leaning TEN, so that always worries me.

NYJ +3 1/2: I'm going with NYJ again. NE's "D" is still learning, and with Mayo out, that curve goes up even more! I'm telling you, that "D" may finish in top 3 this yr. Sanchez has the goods to lead a comeback if need be.

Leans: I promised myself if STL gets more than 10 from WAS, I'd play them. And it's currently at 10, so I'm sure it'll move at least a 1/2 pt by Sunday morning. The same goes with DET too. MIN's "O" is no where near as potent as NO's, and historically that series has been very tight. Honestly, I don't think WAS or MIN should be giving anyone dd's. We'll see. The learning continues...

Cris Collinsworth sounds like he thinks Baltimore is a cinch.. He mentioned SD's O-Line woes and Batly should be able to expose that..

No doubt, Gyne. A healthy SD "O" had trouble with OAK, so BAL's "D" should be a step up. I definitely expect a low-scoring affair, so that favors BAL, esp getting 3 1/2.

I tell you, add another teaser with BAL! Haha! 3 in one wk! Take out WAS tho.

Bill, going against your team after an impressive outing by BUF's "D" vs the vaunted Pat's "O"?! BUF will probably be down for this one, so TB has an opportunity here for sure.

Yes, the under is definitely a play. Did you see the Game's trends for Under with BAL? But, as you can see with my predicted final score, I think it'll be close to the #, so I'll just stick with the side.

GL Bill, how did you fare last wk?

It's official, LT & Hardwick are out. Vasquez looks to be a gametime decision. Juice is sky high on BAL right now. Hope it comes down Sunday.

I'm looking at possible teasers right now. Will have one up tonight.

I like your whole card, Wormy. I actually took a chunk of BAL +5 from Matchbook (there wasn't a whole lot there) during the OAK/SD game and beat the reopened number. BOL, bud!

Oooooh Cruncher, you lucky guy you! Wow, although I feel over 3 is a good play, and I fully expect BAL to win outright anyway. GL partner, see you on the flipside.
