Disappointing POW but my analysis was actually spot on. NYG scored exactly as predicted, but DAL could not convert enough FGs into TDs to win the gm. Prescott performed well for a rookie vs a hated rival, however did not go to Dez enough to allow him to be a factor. The fact that he didn’t force shots to Dez shows maturity. Elliott still needs some polishing behind that great oline. ARI was the big loser as I was reminded of ARI’s sometimes spotty play in primetime. I have low hopes for them going deep into PO’s. Rest of plays did terrific.

POW 0-0-1, Teasers 1-0, Overall 4-1-1.

DEN (-6) made the unusual decision to go w/untested Trevor Siemian just prior to their much hyped up, SB rematch, season opener. Against one of the best “D”s in the land, Siemian struggled early throwing 2 pix. But the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] yr QB didn’t fold under the bright lights & immense pressure. He kept his composure & relied on CJ Anderson to complete the comeback w/2 TDs in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Q. Enter IND. Their “D” wasn’t very good last yr & now they have a lot of injuries to starters, mostly in their secondary. Stafford & co. lit up their “D” last wk w/out Pro Bowl corner Vontae Davis to the tune of 448 yds & 39 pts. Tackling was a huge issue as DET racked up an incredible 213 YAC. And it wasn’t just the pass that was killing IND. DET is traditionally a poor run team yet amassed 116 yds & 2 TDs on the ground. Can you imagine DEN’s run “O” against this hobbled “D”? DEN ran for 148 yds against CAR’s great run “D”, including 20 yds from Siemian. Action is being thrown IND’s way due to their recent history vs DEN. Specifically their last 2 tilts where Luck was under pressure, but managed to complete a handful of critical throws to edge the favored Broncos. Peyton seemed to have a soft spot for IND & did not play his best gms against his old team. I feel w/Siemian & CJ now running the show, DEN’s “D” will be more rested & not playing w/their backs to the endzone often. That will be the difference as IND will not be able to outscore this current DEN unit. DEN is coming off a long wk while IND is worse for wear off their marathon loss, & now have to battle the thin air @ Mile High.

IND 17
DEN 30

Honorable Mentions:

2 Unit HOU -1: KC needed Keenan Allen to get hurt & to score a pt per minute to mount a historical comeback vs SD last wk. Not going to happen this wk. JJ Watt is knocking off the rust, Clowney is showing signs of his #1 draft pick status & LB Mercilus had a good gm in their 30-0 loss to KC in playoffs last yr. HOU’s “O” all around is light-years’ better than last yr’s unit, so I expect a victory @ hm for the revenge-minded Texans to open up 2-0.

1 Unit BAL -5 ½: A lot of talk is about how McCown “owns” the Ravens, but I don’t think that’ll continue here. His big gms vs BAL have come when their “D” had key injuries & McCown was the starter for some time. BAL is experiencing a rare moment of health currently & lost their beloved long time dline coach Clarence Brooks today. I expect a spirited effort Sunday from this “D” & BAL’s run gm to do well, which will open up Flacco’s deep passes.

1 Unit MIA +6 ½: At some pt I go homer & take the Phins. Prob should’ve been last wk, but this is a juicy matchup where MIA wants badly to end their misery @ NE, & seem to have bought into Gase’s coaching. If not for a dropped 70 yd TD pass by Stills & a blocked FG in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP], MIA would’ve completed the colossal upset @ SEA. Mario Williams & DeVante Parker are GTD’s, so their availability would be huge. NE again could be w/out Gronk (it’s looking likely) & still have 2 rookies on the oline.

2 Unit Wormy Teaser:

HOU +12
BAL +7 ½
DAL +16
ATL/OAK Over 35

Colt's secondary have taken a beaten with all of their injuries. They already have enough trouble trying to stop the run. Stranger things have happened, but, I would be very surprised if they cover the spread.

I'm so glad you chimed in United. I go against your Colts quite often, & those times when you actually like them, I lose! I always felt Peyton should've gotten a win against his old team, but he failed every time. This time tho the injuries should be too much, & Siemian is more than capable off a confidence boosting win against CAR. I need to talk w/you before I play any IND gm.

Thanks for stopping by my friend, BOL to you this Sunday.

Phew, was I sure wrong about MIA & BAL! It's so hard to trust Flacco. Every time I play BAL I instantly regret it once I watch him play. I never seem to learn. And boy does MIA have a loooong way to go. It seems as though the "O" begins clicking in 2nd half, when it's too late. Garoppolo got hurt & the lead was still too much for MIA to overcome. Sigh, 0-2.

DEN was definitely a lucky cover (pun intended) as 2 "D" TDs sealed the win. DEN's "O" was really disappointing, but they should only improve as the season rolls along. HOU won a tough one to start 2-0 & my teaser hit w/no stress. I'm alive in all 3 of my survivor contests, & I actually swept all 5 of my Fantasy gms today! Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come this yr.

Great day my friend. The fumble recovery for the TD at then end was very lucky and gave us the miracle cover. One could also say we were very unlucky that Denver had to settle for fg's.

Yes, very similar to my DAL POW last wk where should-be TDs were FGs & it ruins the cover. Well, it seems we're both on the rt side at least, so let's continue to roll my brother-in-capping!
