Sigh. I am completely opposite of my POW record last yr & lady luck just has not been on my side this yr. Why TB would come out completely flat in a div clinching gm @ hm just boggles me. It does show that Todd Bowles & his coaching staff cannot be trusted. Whether it’s motivation techniques or plain Xs & Os, TB will continue to be a middling team until a new staff is hired. They should really consider Bieniemy if they decide to move on from Bowles. MIA was in the BAL gm, but 2 bad INTs from Tua, a sure TD drop from Tyreek, & the loss of Xavien Howard in the 1st Q, all combined to doom the team in a fight for the #1 seed & 1st rd bye. MIA’s LBs & secondary were completely lost on multiple plays that allowed silly, wide open TDs to Lamar, who really didn’t have to do much field reading. His #1 options were open often. MIA’s dline actually did very well considering how awesome BAL’s run gm is. The loss of Chubb for the yr is likely the last straw for MIA not making a serious PO run. For those of you critical of MIA in big gms this yr, here is a list of key injuries for most of those gms: Top 2 DEs (Phillips & Chubb), their C (Williams), #1 CB (Ramsey), #2 CB (Howard), LT (Armstead), LG (Wynn), RG (Jones), RT (Jackson), #2 WR (Waddle), #1 RB (Mostert), MIKE LB (Baker), SS (Holland). That’s a lot of starters. Thankfully Tua did not miss a gm, which honestly keeps him in the MVP discussion because w/out him, this team would’ve lost @ least 4 more gms. The ATL/CHI Under lost due to ATL’s “D” not showing up. LAV, ARI & Teaser helped stem my losses. I went w/IND +1 ½ in Sat’s late gm, which will be a loss in my undocumented record.
Regular Season POW 6-11, Teasers 8-12, GOY 1-0, Overall 40-48-2 (43-49-2 Undocumented)
NE -1 ½ is finishing out their awful 4-12 season in what could be Belicheat’s last gm as the Patriots HC. If there is one coach that would continue the way he does things w/little distractions, it would be Bill. Trust the process. I feel the team has been playing much better in recent wks, giving BUF & KC fits, & beating DEN & PIT. I think the reason for this is the oline is finally stabalizing. LT Lowe has not given up a sack since moving to that spot the last 2 gms. NE’s “D” has been playing well the whole season, so just having some functionality on “O” will win them the gm. S Peppers will likely return here, which makes the “D” a little stronger. There will be snow & high winds for this tilt, so the ground gm will be very important. Expect Belicheat to take away the legs of Breece Hall, which they did in their 1st gm holding him to 18 yds on 12 carries, & force Siemian to have to throw to keep NY on the field. Siemian had a decent gm against CLE’s vaunted “D”, but still threw a pick & needed 45 pass attempts to get his 261 yds. Now w/bad weather, I expect the normal Trevor to show up. Also, NY has had to shuffle their oline often due to injuries & poor play. Now they will be w/out another starting olineman w/Jake Hanson out. Belicheat has a part ownership of the NYJ as he has a 15-0 SU & 12-3 ATS record against them, 5-0 against Saleh. NYJ this season is 0-6 ATS vs losing teams. Holding my nose here.
