JAX has been putrid the entire season & decide to have the gm of their lives, most notably Bortles, to steamroll TEN & knock Mariota out for the yr. JAX showed what should’ve been from the start, so the recently fired Bradley must have been the reason for poor effort. TEN also murdered my teaser which hit everything else, & Matt Barkley throwing the ball to WAS completed my miserable day. The teeny, shining light thru it all was MIA winning a thriller behind solid gms by Ajayi & Moore. MIA is showing so much grit that has been missing since Zach Thomas left the team.

POW 9-5-2, Teasers 11-5, Overall 41-25-3 (42-26-3 undocumented), GOY 0-1.

GB (-3) has won 5 straight to help set the table for Rodgers’ prediction of running that very same table. All that stands in their way are the Lions. DET themselves were a hot team but have dropped their last 2 to force this winner take all gm. DET I’ve felt has been on borrowed time all season. I don’t respect HC Caldwell, DET’s run gm or Stafford while I’m @ it. Stafford has really improved as a QB this season which can be directly attributed to OC JB Cooter. However, w/out a run gm & consistent “D”, DET relying on 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Q comebacks to win gms is a bad formula. Following an injury to his middle finger, Stafford has thrown 4 INTs in 3 gms, whereas he only threw 5 in 12 gms prior. Whether it’s actually affecting his grip on the ball, or he’s mentally affected by the injury (I think it’s both), Stafford’s comp % has gone down. In fairness, he’s been under increased pressure as well, which can be attributed to the loss of C Travis Swanson who suffered a concussion in Wk 13 (also when Stafford hurt his finger). I said that Rodgers near midseason was not seeing the field well & missing a lot of open receivers. Once he promised to win out the rest of their gms, he’s reverted back to the old Aaron Rodgers. He’s spraying the ball all over the field, w/Jordy Nelson leading the pack. Converted WR Montgomery has been an epiphany @ RB. GB’s “D” has magically started playing w/more confidence & focus now that their leader is playing better. GB is the hottest team in the NFL outside of DAL & NE, and I feel this gm won’t even be close. But if GB’s “D” decides to give up big plays, I feel 3 is a low enough # to allow a late surge by DET. If WAS wins earlier in the day it’ll only up the stakes in primetime where I will go w/Mr. Rodgers over Stafford 10 out of 10 times. Standout corner Darius Slay is key if he plays, however nursing a hamstring injury & trying to guard Nelson is a tall order.

GB 31
DET 20
5 Units

GL to all & comments are most welcome.

Honorable Mentions:

1 Unit MIA +10; ½ Unit MIA ML +315: Riding dem Fins all the way! Seriously tho, NE is vulnerable @ MIA & it starts w/pressure on Brady. Cam Wake loves playing NE & the MIA players & coaches seem to relish this matchup, unlike the rest of the league. That said, MIA is dealing w/significant injuries on “D” so Moore & Ajayi will need to score. I know Belicheat has said they will play to win the gm, but even if they lose homefield to OAK, he must know that the chances of OAK surviving not just this wk but the divisional rd too, is very low w/out Carr.

1 Unit ATL -7: Most pundits are predicting a close gm, but ATL’s “D” is really stepping it up recently. Vic Beasley & co are getting pressure on opposing QBs which hides their rather pedestrian secondary. Matt Ryan destroyed the NOR “D” their last matchup together w/short passes to Freeman & Coleman. Quinn will likely change it up this time, but one huge reason for Ryan’s success this yr is he’s reading “D”s extremely well. NOR may blow this one for me, but I really feel ATL goes all out to get a 1[SUP]st[/SUP] rd bye to rest a myriad of injuries on both sides of the ball.

1 Unit KC -4: Well, going w/all the teams that have something to play for. What a reach. It’s not just motivation here however. KC has historically played SD very well, even when they were not good. Now that they ARE good, w/the div to play for no less, they should handle the injury riddled Chargers. Loss of Justin Houston & Derrick Johnson on “D” should not be taken lightly, however I’m hoping Smith, Ware & human dynamo Ty-freak Hill score enough to cover the #.

2 Unit Wormy Teaser:

WAS +5 ½
ATL +5 ½
KC +9
DEN +11 ½

Risking a lot of juice this wk! Praying for a winning wk for certain!

Happy New Year to all! Let’s all start 2017 on the plus side!

College BONUS!

Not really, I haven't watched much CFB but I'll post my plays anyway. My friend says I'm crazy for putting in these plays, so when I hit them, I'll show him this post. If they lose, nobody saw nothin!

1 Unit Washington +14: In Chris Petersen I trust. He's 5-0 in top 10 matchups & he gameplans w/the best of them. Alabama is also falling into the trap of a lot of media hype already declaring them the winners here. Petersen is also helping set the trap by praising Saban & saying how depressed he was watching gm film on the Tide. Huskie players will be coming out ready here & should keep this close.

1 Unit Ohio St -2 1/2: In Urban Meyer I trust! Here's another guy that thrives when given a lot of time to gameplan. Clemson is a trendy pick & they looked good in last yrs POs, but I think Meyer & the Buckeyes pull this one off, avenging their loss back in '13!

Hard not to like the packers given both teams current form. GL this week!
I know, not much of a stretch taking GB. The matchups are there for them tho, & DET has been winning a lot of their gms w/last second drives. How can that be sustainable? Do you have thoughts on the big gm?

I would not be stunned if NE plays Garrapolo in the 2nd half (though he shredded Miami until he got hurt in week 2). They may rest Bennett, Edelman and Hightower if they have a lead.

i certainly think it pack or nothing. Stafford hasn't been as sharp since hurting his finger, they got no run game to take some pressure off him and with riddick on the shelf he doesn't get enough of those dump offs that work as substitute for a rushing attack.. lions d has kept them around in a lot of those close 4th qrtr wins and while that great and all a lot of those games were against below average offenses. Packers offense humming they are gonna score points no question, stafford will have to be on his game from opening kick and while I think he capable of doing so his performances the last month don't inspire much confidence. I'd be surprised if gb doesn't score 30+ And that just not a number lions offense been sniffing much.. i gotta see what happens with skins before I could play this either way tho, if skins lose all a sudden the importance of this game changes drastically.
