My POW is officially cursed. Most that read my posts know I will admit when my capping was wrong, or when I get lucky when I win, & try to learn from my mistakes. TEN really struggled for most of the gm w/DeMeco Ryans having a great gameplan to stop Henry & let Levis beat them. That’s fine, but where TEN was supposed to dominate was against grandpa Case Keenum & his patchwork receiving corp. They did do that for the most part, but when it mattered most, when TEN was up by 8 in the final minutes of the gm, they gave up a crazy TD-drive & 2-pt conversion to force OT. There I knew I would likely push as a best case, & lose outright as worst case. Local boy Ka’imi Fairbairn’s 54-yd FG sealed that deal. Teaser GOY & rest of slate thankfully hit w/out much stress, as well as Thurs nighter w/LAR cruising over NOR to maintain their PO push.
Regular Season POW 5-10, Teasers 7-11, GOY 1-0, Overall 34-41-2 (36-41-2 Undocumented)
MIA -1 ½ is #2 in the AFC & still 3 gms up on BUF for the East. DAL is also #2 in their conf, & currently leading their East by tiebreaker w/PHI. Huge gm for both teams, w/2 narratives both are trying the shake as well. DAL is 7-0 @ hm, but 3-4 on the rd w/precipitous drops in performance on both sides of the ball. Even @ the hapless NYG & CAR, it was the “D” that lifted DAL to those 2 blowouts. For MIA, they are 0-3 vs winning teams losing to BUF, KC & PHI. Those 3 losses were away gms w/a few critical reasons why they couldn’t pull out the win. Against BUF, Fangio for some reason put Kader Kohou on an island w/Diggs & he predictably got torched all gm. In Germany, Tyreek’s 60-yd fumble return TD was the difference there. And PHI’s gm was extremely 1-sided w/the officials, highlighted by the awful DPI AND facemask missed call in the 3rd that would’ve made it 1st & goal on the 6 for MIA. Anyway, enough lamenting by me, for this tilt it is all about the battle in the trenches. Huge news out of DAL w/All-World LT Tyron Smith doubtful for the gm, & All-World RG Martin questionable w/a bad quad. I often mention the heat & humidity in MIA gms for cold weather teams, but this now becomes exacerbated w/those injuries. Dak relies heavily on having enough time to find open receivers. MIA’s relentless pass rush led by Chubb will have an early Christmas dinner here. MIA’s run “D” has also improved, so w/out that to balance the gm, Dak will be under pressure all gm. MIA’s oline also has injuries, but what else is new. Tua still has the quickest release in the league for that reason. I feel MIA will run w/Mostert & Achane (DAL DT Hankins out) to keep pressure off Tua, who will take a few deep shots when it presents itself. DAL’s LBs struggle against pre-snap motion, which is MIA’s specialty. This could be a homer call, but I really see MIA dominating this gm, esp w/those key oline injuries for DAL. Tyreek is expected to play. And if X-man Howard goes, that’s him & Ramsey on Lamb & Cooks. Excellent matchups all around.
