Was lured into a false sense of hope after hitting on my POW 1[SUP]st[/SUP] going into my dreaded odd numbered wk. Matt Moore looked terrific as predicted & the “D” knocked Petty out of the gm. Then things turned nasty. MIN got taken to the woodshed by IND & Osweiler finally got benched, but too late, to lose the cover vs JAX. Teaser was looking great too, but GB & CHI then forgot how to play “D” where they scored 37 pts in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half. Ridiculous.

TEN (-4 ½) is riding a solid run gm & still improving “D”. St. Louis Crusader, Mariota is having a great season thanks to that punishing run gm as well as a steady oline. W/no star receiver to be found, he’s utilized his legs, Walker & a handful of good but not great WRs to help his team win 3 tight ones recently. Derrick Henry is starting to get more carries & it’s paying dividends. Murray is maintaining fresh legs which only wears down the opposing “D” late in the gm, when Henry is plowing thru the line too. JAX was going all out against div rival HOU last wk to try to win one for their coach. Unfortunately for them, O’Brien benched Osweiler in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Q, allowing Tom “Macho Man” Savage to snap into a Slim Jim & get Gus Bradley fired. I feel JAX @ this pt will mail it in knowing the coaching staff they’re playing for won’t be there next yr & there’s only 2 wks left to the offseason (plus Christmas the next day). So despite TEN being a hated rival, JAX as a team can’t be all focused on winning this one enough to pull off the upset. And JAX would have to play near perfect to succeed against this powerful, grinding “O” & hard hitting, swarming “D”. TEN jumped to a 27-0 lead in their last gm in Oct & I’m hoping for a similar start to this one.
