What a GOY last wk! NYG cover in style. Still unbelievable that the line was a mere 3 pts. And the Gmen actually made it closer than it should've been.
Wormy POW now stands at 9-3-1.
The NYJ blew it big time last wk with weather possibly playing a factor with Favre's performance. But, more likely NY took DEN waaay too lightly. After HUGE wins against NE, then TEN, NY played down to DEN. The team is upset, and Mangini probably put them through the grinder this wk in practice. Favre will want to make up for that gm, and Thomas Jones will continue his great play behind one of the better olines in the AFC, and all-pro FB Richardson. The NYJ pass "D" is 2nd worst in the league thanks to their crappy secondary. But HC Singletary is trying to establish the run more, and is keeping Martz's high-flying "O" in check, somewhat. WR's Bruce & Jason Hill aren't Eddie Royal & Marshall, and while Shaun Hill is having a good season, he's no Jay Cutler either. Also, SF's pass "D" isn't much better, as it's the 5th stinkiest. It'll only worsen as they'll try to stop Jones/Washington from continuing their dominance on the ground. With star DB Nate Clements nursing a bad hand, hopefully that bodes well for INT-prone Favre. Cotchery & Coles could go for a homerun or two. SF's good LB's should have their hands full with talented rookie TE Keller. NYJ haven't won on the wesside this season, as they lost to SD & OAK. But Favre is a perfect 6-0 @ SF, with one of those wins coming on a horrendous GB team several yrs ago. I feel motivation will be huge here. NYJ are coming off an embarrassing loss @ home and need to keep their small lead in the AFC East, while SF is simply playing the role of spoiler. On a smaller, but still important note, 36 yr old Isaac Bruce should be returning kicks due to injuries to Rossum, Battle, and Clements. On special teams for NYJ, Washington has been electric on returns, and should be a factor vs a weak SF coverage team. Weather shouldn't be a factor, so I like NY to come out firing here.
