It’s better to be lucky than good, is the famous saying. HOU w/Stroud are making amazing comebacks or taking teams to the woodshed, but the last 2x I back them (vs CAR & JAX) they look absolutely terrible as a team. Belicheat showed that he wants a top draft pick next yr by starting Jones once again, & then benching him once again. Teaser & LAR hit to help stem losses, along w/my Turkey pix, but just so disappointed in my POW. The officials definitely influenced the Thurs gm where DAL barely contained the great Geno Smith to eke out the win @ hm. Just not getting any luck there. Hoping to start a winning streak this wk.
Regular Season POW 4-8, Teasers 6-9, GOY 0-0, Overall 24-34-2 (26-34-2 Undocumented)
MIA -9 are still atop the AFC East by 2 ½ gms over BUF, who are on bye. Take care of business @ WAS & they round that up to an even 3 gms up, w/5 more gms to go. Much has been made about MIA bullying the bad teams, & it should be no different here. MIA is beginning to rely on their “D” in recent wks as Tua has struggled against some fairly good pass “D”s. Enter WAS, who are dead last in passing TDs given up, & 2nd to last in pypa (7.5 ypa!). This is definitely a get-rt gm for Tua & the gang. DC Del Rio was fired & Rivera takes over “D” playcalling. I don’t think it matters. They weren’t very good before trading away their star DEs Young & Sweat. WAS is also tied for 8th worst in rypc @ a healthy 4.4 ypc given up to runners. This is important, because MIA’s run gm allows Tua more time to throw downfield. Rookie sensation Achane is back (again) for this tilt, so hopefully he lasts longer than 2 qtrs, unlike his last gm vs LAV. Sam Howell is actually a very good QB, but he’s on pace to shatter the NFL sack record. He seems to play the same despite the pressure, but that consistently puts WAS’s “O” in down & distance. He also throws a lot of INTs, & that can’t get better against a suddenly great MIA secondary. The loss of DE Jaelan Phillips was crushing, but Van Ginkel & a resurgent Ogbah, out to prove himself, cuts the edge off that huge loss. W/how WAS’s oline is blocking, I’m predicting a long day for Howell. WAS’s run gm would have to come to the rescue, but MIA is fairly stout there as well, improving their once bad run “D” to now 5th best in the league in rypc @ 3.8 ypc. Vic Fangio’s influence on this talented “D” is finally paying dividends, w/a lot of starters now healthy. Speaking of health, MIA’s oline will be a little stronger here too, w/Armstead & a handful of injured olinemen likely coming back.
