Holy smokes. I’m not going to waste time on talking about how bad last wk was.
POW 5-5-1, Teasers 3-4, Overall 24-30-1
DET (-2 ½) is on a 2 gm win streak, & seem to be improving on both “O” & “D”. Now, this isn’t to say they’re suddenly a good team, just that they were pretty bad before a change @ OC & getting Ngata back. Most important in DET’s turnaround is the stellar play by their 2 young corners Lawson & Diggs that became starters due to injuries. Opposite Lawson in their base “D” is Darius Slay. He is becoming a shutdown corner, & DET is beginning to line him up opposite the opponent’s #1 WR. He shadowed James Jones & Amari Cooper their last 2 gms, limiting them to zero & 4 yds. PHI doesn’t really have a go-to WR, but DET’s secondary doesn’t spell good things for TO prone Mark Dirty-Sanchez. DET’s “O” is the problem here as GB & OAK do not boast the league’s best “D”s, but limited DET to 18 pts a piece. However, PHI gave up some nice stats to Winston & Tannehill in their last 2 tilts & Stafford isn’t far from those 2 QBs. Plus Staff has Megatron & Tate, not to mention Riddick out of the backfield, to break some plays & score more than 18 here. PHI also has injuries to Zach Ertz & starting C Kelce. Throw this in w/rumors that Chip Kelly has lost the lockerroom & DET looks like a great turkey day play.
