Sigh. What did I tell everyone about Lamar? This guy is a killer when on the move & completely limited when he throws. Now, this inexplicable comeback loss to CLE wasn’t all on him, because BAL’s “D” loves to hit cruise control often when they have a lead. But his 2 pix & inefficiency in 2nd half when BAL’s run gm stalled, were squarely on his shoulders. This is why I have a difficult time playing BAL. They’re a well-coached team w/a solid “D” & great run gm, but if either of those fail, Lamar will not come to the rescue. Teaser & rest of plays hit, of course. This is definitely one of the worst POW starts of my time posting @ this fine forum.
Regular Season POW 3-6, Teasers 3-6, GOY 0-0, Overall 15-25-2 (17-25-2 Undocumented)
DET -8 is 7-2 atop the NFC North, & if they take care of business @ hm against the 3-7 Bears, & PHI loses @ KC on MNF, they would be tied for the NFC #1 seed. The tiebreaker (beside H2H) is div record, so beating CHI adds more fuel to this fire. Fields returns for this div rivalry, but will it really matter? That only makes DET’s “D” more focused on CHI’s ground gm than the pass. CHI’s “D” has been steadily improving, but that’s against the likes of Bryce Young, Derek Carr, & O’Connell (they gave up almost 300 yds & 3 TDs to Herbert in their recent stretch). I believe DET comes into this gm motivated as MIN isn’t far behind in the div. DET just so happens to dominate the North, more than the White Walkers. DET is 11-0 ATS in the div. Oppositely, CHI is 0-6 ATS in div gms. DET is also 5-0 ATS vs losing teams. This all adds up to DET beats the teams they’re supposed to & CHI loses the gms they’re supposed to. The line is a bit high, but after facing the dynamic LAC’s “O”, this will be a relief. RB Kahlil Herbert returns for CHI, but he will have major rust to shake off, & Foreman is nursing a bad ankle. Former CHI RB Montgomery will complement the surging Gibbs in the backfield, to help Goff, St Brown, & LaPorta keep this score out of reach. Fields will be forced to throw to keep up, w/a bad thumb on his throwing hand.
