KC floundered on “O” in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half, but calmly covered the number last wk over the Vick-led Jets. MIN won another thriller vs WAS, while MIA cruised against SD as the whole team played inspired ball for their HC. Once again the teaser goes down, which has the opposite record of my POW, so I guess I should be happy. DEN’s inspiring effort @ NE was the guilty party for last wk’s downfall. My rare MNF pick went down in flames too, where off a bye @ hm in primetime weren’t enough positive factors to help the hapless Giants keep it competitive against the balanced Colts.

POW 6-3, Teasers 3-6, Overall 22-20-1

KC (-1) for some reason has played BUF the past 6 yrs. BUF is 4-2 SU & 5-1 ATS in their dominance in this series. Last yrs matchup was an ugly one seeing the only “O” TD from Jeff Tuel on a 59 yd TD pass to Marquisse Goodwin. But 3 TO’s were the difference as Sean Smith intercepted Tuel on their goal line for a 100 yd INT return TD, & KC also scored off a fumble recovery, helping them win 23-13. BUF was able to keep pace for most of the gm thanks to Spiller & F-Jax dominating the ground gm w/193 yds, & also catching 3 balls for 61 yds. Early reports have Jackson sitting this gm w/a groin injury in anticipation of a short wk before their matchup @ MIA on Thurs. W/Spiller out for the yr, that’s 250 yds of missing “O” from last yrs tilt. Stud WR Watkins pulled his groin in Wed’s practice, making him a GTD. That would be even more missing “O” for BUF, as he avg’s 73 ypg & has 5 TDs on the yr. Kyle Orton has rejuvenated BUF’s “O”, but his numbers aren’t much better than Manuel’s. The team believes his veteran leadership is the difference. This may be the case as his 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] down comp % leads the league, but BUF’s “D” still plays the largest part in BUF’s success this yr. BUF is forcing a lot of TO’s which hides their own 8 TO’s in the last 4. KC “O” only has 6 TO’s on the whole yr, as the ultra conservative Andy Reid “O” plays strict ball control. KC should win the TO battle here & win a tight one, led by Charles & Davis. I don’t know if it’s because KC DC Bob Sutton was in the AFC East for 13 yrs, but they’ve dominated the East thus far & I see it continuing at Ralph Wilson (KC 3-0 vs East @ 20 ppg).

KC 23
BUF 16
4 Units

BOL to all, and as always comments are most welcome.

Honorable Mentions:

1 Unit ATL -2 1/2: Mike Smith is 4-2 ATS off the bye, including 1-1 vs TB. This is definitely a circle gm for TB, but w/the reinsertion of Josh McCown, I have a hard time seeing TB pull this off. Gerald McCoy wreaking havoc up the middle will likely give Ryan a hard time, so this rematch will be nothing like the 56-14 beatdown by ATL 8 wks ago.

1 Unit TEN +10: BAL is off 2 high emotion, div rd gms & must be looking forward to the bye next wk. I see them taking the foot off the gas pedal & TEN taking advantage. Rookie Zach Mettenberger did fairly well against the talented dline of HOU, comp 65% w/2 TDs to 1 INT. Now he comes off 2 wks w/the first team against a down BAL “D”.

1 Unit ARI -6 ½ @ -110: ARI sits on top of the ultra talented NFC thanks to a steady “D” & a smart “O”. This will be STL’s 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] straight rd gm & against yet another top flight “D” (SF & KC previously). I expect ARI to wear the Lams down & take care of business @ hm.

1 Unit GB -7: McCarthy is great off the bye & CHI is just plain bad. This is a primetime gm, so anything can happen, but after their extremely poor play @ NOR, I feel Rodgers & co will bounceback huge against the rudderless Bears. Last time CHI beat GB, McCown was QB.

1 Unit Wormy Teaser:

MIA +15 1/2
ATL +10 1/2
DEN +2
ARI +6

What you're losing faith in our Fins? Only a tease?... Let's hope KC takes care of busines up in Buffalo. They've been hanging around for too long.

I almost played KC but decided to lay the Denver game instead. I was sort of looking at playing Baltimore after the beating Pitt put on them. I was hoping that line would be at 7 or less. Baltimore, although a close race is in a must win in that division race. I just thought the two scores was to much of a spot. I also played the Pack off the bye and leaned towards the Falcons but was concerned if they might be going through the motions as a lot of their players want Smith fired.

Keep up the good work my friend!

Not at all, Cash. Just w/CJ coming back, DET @ hm, & their dline able to contain a hurt Lamar Miller, & there was too much positives on DET's end. Not to mention their incredible luck winning gms late. Buuuuut, w/Fairley out & Stafford being a crappy QB, I think we got a great chance to continue da streak! Lazor better mix in a LOT of read option for Tanny, or he might be under pressure all gm. As the norm, Wallace needs to make a few big gains too.

Yeah, I get the feeling BUF's been winning on borrowed time. Hopefully this begins their payback.

You know, I thought the same about ATL, then they actually took DET to the brink. The players should play for pride here against a div rival & someone they took to the woodshed their last time out. I'm hoping TEN's "D" can put some pressure on Flacco as the scouting report on him is he can't handle blitzes. And of course I'm w/you on GB! You've been great w/SNF so I hope that trend continues! Thanks for stopping by as always pal!

Well, both Fred Jackson & Watkins are playing today, however they both have groin pulls so we'll see how effective they are. Although this affects my POW, it's nice for me that BUF would risk their health prior to their Thurs tilt against the Dolphins.

Go Chiefs!
