Once again, not quite in tune with the NFL preseason w/most of my research coming from fantasy football. But, did my homework on Wk 1 action and feel excited for the '24 season! POW coming later, but posting opener and bonus Sao Paulo gm.
2023 FINAL LINE
Final Regular Season Regular Season POW 6-12, Teasers 9-12, GOY 1-0, Overall 43-49-2 (46-51-2 Undocumented)
Playoff POW 3-1, Teasers 1-2, Overall 7-6, SB record since 07: 6-11 (10-12 Undocumented)
2 Units KC -3: The Chefs finished as B2B champs thanks to the Swiftie effect and open the NFL season @ hm once again. Taylor not needed for this tilt as KC should win the war in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The true battle that KC will control is their front 7 vs BAL’s reinvented oline. Losing 3 starters from last yr, all very good linemen, can’t improve things from their pro bowl oline last yr where Chris Jones & co absolutely dominated BAL in the AFC championship forcing TOs on Lamar. King Henry will have to wait 1 more wk to make his impact on his new team.
1 Unit BAL/KC Under 47: As mentioned above, KC’s “D” should control the line of scrimmage against BAL’s normally potent “O”. BAL’s “D” is still steady this yr led by that balanced dline & stud Kyle Hamilton roving the secondary. I can see a lot of the King & Lamar’s legs & solid RB Pacheco & Mahomes’ legs doing a lot of the work to keep the scoring tight.
1 Unit GB +2: Love Hurts in Brazil where the NFL’s international expansion continues. GB is so balanced on both sides of the ball but the true difference is in QB. Love showed in the spotlight that he belongs in this gm & will outplay Jalen Hurts, who I feel is one of the most overrated QBs in the league. PHI must find out what life w/out one of the gm’s greatest centers will be like. Let’s see if PHI can survive w/out that automatic 1st down from the tush push that helped them win many gms last yr.
