Back at it! Last yr was such a hectic time for me & my posting was a little erratic at the end, which is the reason for “undocumented” record below. However, DEN got me a very satisfying win to end a dubious SB losing streak & roller coaster season overall.
UNDOCUMENTED 2015 record: POW 9-7-1, Overall 40-43-1, PO’s 2-1, SB 1-0.
2015 Regular Season: POW 8-7-1, Teasers 5-7, Overall 38-41-1, PO’s 2-1, SB 1-0.
This is not my POW, which will likely post on Saturday. But I’ve always had action on the opener. This is a tough one, so I’m going w/the total.
CAR/DEN Under 42: What better way to open the season than a SB rematch w/2 of the league’s best “D”s? I see a lot of action on CAR early, which makes sense. Scam & co will be looking for major revenge here & have the horses (pun intended) to make it happen. However, DEN is now a hm dog in primetime w/a great “D”. Never good to go against that combo. Also worth considering is CAR’s rd record to finish the yr (0-4 ATS including SB). CAR’s big weakness this yr is their secondary w/loss of stud corner Norman & retirement of Tillman. CAR will likely be playing a lot of zone w/their rookie corners, which Demaryius & Sanders should excel against. That said, will Siemian deliver? Will he have time to deliver? DEN has been shuffling their oline all preseason & w/out Peyton bringing stability there, CAR’s monstrous front 7 should feast. Kelvin Benjamin returns for CAR’s below avg WR corp, but Scam Newton has looked awful in preseason, & DEN still boasts the best secondary in the NFL. I have little faith in Scam’s mental makeup, so the SB may still be affecting his play. We’ll see, but I don’t see much “O” in this matchup.
