The USA is playing Jamaica for 7th place in the early game. The line is -76.5 and the over/under 129.5. Brazil beat them by 116-34 (150 points). Hard to believe that the USA is playing to avoid last place. I lean to the over and think we see a game in the 105-33 range. It will be hard for the USA to score less than 100. This game starts at 11:30am eastern.

Unics Kazan at Galatasary (men's BB)
1pm EDT (Thursday 10/27/2011)
Euroleague

pick: Unics +7

Unics lost to Siena last week, but Siena is definitely a stronger team and they were hot making 10/19 3 pointers. Unics has a strong frontcourt with Jawai, Savrasenko, Wilkinson and they should have an advantage over Andric and Darius Songaila today. Unics proved last year that they can win on the road. Take the dog on Thursday in Euroleague action.

Nice winner yesterday on Unics as they won outright.

Pan Am Games (men)
USA vs. Uruguay
6:30pm

pick: Uruguay +19.5

The USA is 2-0 and in the semis and should play everyone and be happy with a win by 10-15 points. Uruguay has lost to Brazil by 9 and to Dom Republic by 14. They do have some solid players such as Martin Osimani and Bruno Fitipaldo. Take the underdog as the USA beat Dom Republic by 1 and fell behind to Brazil before winning by 11. This is the third game in 3 days for both teams.

Nice winner with Uruguay + points as they won 82-80.

Strasbourg at Chalon Saone
France men's hoops
3pm eastern Sat. (11/5)

Strasbourg +7.5
I like the visitors +7.5 as they are led by former Univ. of Richmond players Kevin Anderson and Justin Harper. They should be motivated as they will be facing Chalon Saone's Malcolm Delaney, who attended Virginia Tech.

The home team is 3-1 and have wins by 4, 9 and 2 points while Strasbourg is just 2-2 but their losses were by just 7 and 5 points. I think we see the underdog stay winthin 7 points.

Unicaja vs. Zagreb
Euroleague
Wed. Nov. 9, 2011 (2:45pm EST)

pick: Zagreb +20.5

Zagreb has a decent roster but has not played well in the Euroleague. They are off a nice 102-85 win in the Adriatic League where Sean May had 24 points and 8 rb's. Mario Kasun and Mulaomerovic also had over 20 points and Krunoslav played well.

Unicaja may be looking ahead to playing CSKA Moscow next and be ahppy just to win today.

Hopefully, Zagreb can play well today and stay within 15 for a cover.

Nice winner with Zagreb last week.

Union Olympija vs. Unics Kazan
Thursday (Nov. 17) 11am eastern
pick: Union Olympija Ljubljana +10

Look for the underdog to cover the +10 today. Unics is led by Henry Domercant at 20 ppg and he has made 55% of his 3's while Union Olympija has had some injury problems but look to be healthy now. They have former UNC players Danny Green and Deon Thompson but are led by Narkato and Varda. This looks to be a farily low scoring game so it may be hard to win by double digits.

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. Maccabi Haifa
Israel Premier League
under 169

Jordan Farmar will miss this game due to the end of the NBA lockout. He leads the team in scoring and assists. He had 15 points and 13 assists in their last game. Tel Aviv does have Guy Pnini and Keith Langford as well as Richard Hendrix to put up points. They are coached by David Blatt who is a solid defensive coach. Their last 5 scores have ended with 185, 133, 150, 145 and 144 points.

Haifa is a high scoring team led by Sylvan Landesberg and Sean Willaims.

I think we have a good chance for under 169.

Panathinaikos vs. Ilisiakos
12 noon (12/3/2011)

pick: Ilisiakos +25
Look for the road team to keep it within 17 to 25 points as Pan has a big game coming up next week and they are dealing with some injuries and don't want to deal with more problems.

Ilisiakos is a solid defensive team that can keep it low scoring. Look for them to stay within the number in this game that starts at 12 noon eastern on Saturday.

AZS Kozalin/Kotwica
under 161

This is a derby game that looks to stay under. Kotwica has a new coach that focuses more on defense. Look at the under.
