Tomorrow is the start of the World Series where the SF Giants square off against the KC Royals. I wanted to get this thread going early to get some thoughts, predictions and picks on how to approach what I believe is going to be a really fun series to watch! Please feel free to add to the lists below as you see fit. The idea here is to give the RX the best chance at making money and to close out the '14 campaign on a high! That means no haters!!

A few early thoughts I have for everyone:

- KC is a team of destiny
- KC has momentum
- KC has a bullpen that is lights out
- KC is fast as fuck
- KC plays great small ball
- KC has an overachieving manager
- KC just swept the Orioles and the Angels
- KC Dixon is fast
- KC better defensively
- KC has a great home crowd
- KC has been hitting homers recently
- KC won all three meetings this year against the Giants
- KC has yet to lose a playoff game this year

- SF has been finding ways to win
- SF has been manufacturing runs as needed
- SF has an equally good bullpen
- SF has Hunter Pence (Im a big fan...Great Player)
- SF has BUM who is pitching really good
- SF has a more experienced team
- SF has a managerial edge
- SF has a better starting rotation
- SF has a slight hitting edge

Royals and Giants played an inter-league series in August. The Royals swept the three game series in Kansas City by scores of 4-2, 5-0 and 7-4. Vargas, Shields and Duffy got the wins for Kansas City. Shields, probably pitched his best game of the year in 5-0 shutout win where he pitched a complete game giving up four hits. Bumgarner took the loss in the 4-2 game vs. Vargas. Vargas wasn't very good but he went five innings and their bullpen was brilliant going the last four innings giving up three hits and no runs. Probably, takes away a little of the unknown factor for the Royals as they pretty much had their way with the Giants in this series.

Bumgarner has been money on road this year going 13-4 with 1.96 ERA
Post season - he pitched complete game shutout in wild card game beating Pitt on road 8-0
L3 post season 1-1 with 1.99 ERA....also shutout St. Louis 3-0 on road

Shields at home is 5-6 with 3.64
also in postseason play he was spectacular in 2008 with Rays
but in 2010 he was 0-1 with 8.31 & 2011 he was 0-1 with 12.60 ERA
this year he blew the lead in the wild card game, but KC came back to win & he is 1-0 with 5.62 ERA with 3-0 team record

Giants are the superior team except in team speed + they have post-season experience. Look for SF to win game 1 easily, then 3 of next 4.

If KC could have immediately played WS after the 2 sweeps may have been different story

What were the Results?

Does History really repeat itself?

Not sure that the Giants are the superior team as the series odds are quoted as even. Not only do the Royals have a speed advantage but also an advantage in the bullpen. I'd also give them a slight advantage defensively largely because of gold glover Gordon and the rest of the aforementioned speed in the outfield. After Bumgarner it's Hudson, Peavy and Vogelsong with none of those three in their primes. Royals did sweep the Giants in August and fairly easily ... bol.

I think this series is going at least six and I'll be betting the losing team to win the series after each game to get plus money on both sides.

Books set line to split the action they are not handicapping game
SF has superior bullpen except for Holland.
KC fielding % was 26th in MLB while SF about middle of pack

The pitching matchup & KC's inexperience tonight puts me on SF ML & RL tonight.

Huh? Herrerra.. Davis.. Best 7-8-9 in baseball bar none. One of the best in history.

Also, Royals are an incredible defensive team, probably 4 gold glovers. You're nuts.

That said, I like the Giants in game 1.

4 Gold Gloves...do you want to wager on that? besides Perez & Gordon who else?

Not saying KC doesn't have great closer and set up men but more to bullpen than that

Check the fielding stats....KC sitting at # 26 out of 30
