10* Twins-1.5....-130
Royals: After winning his first two starts following his recall from Omaha, Duckworth didn't survive the fifth inning on Friday night against the Indians. He was tagged for five runs on five singles and four walks. The Indians did a good job of fighting off Duckworth when he got into good pitchers' counts, and they worked him for walks and flicked grounders through holes for singles. Duckworth lacked command and used up 82 pitches (46 strikes). Against the Twins, he's 1-1 with a 3.93 ERA in four career outings.
Twins: Liriano delivered yet another strong start for the Twins in perhaps his biggest test since he returned to the Majors -- the left-hander held the Tigers to just two runs on five hits in seven-plus innings. He struck out nine while issuing just one walk. Liriano is 5-0 with a 1.44 ERA in seven starts since being called back up by Minnesota. He also has 38 strikeouts in his 43 2/3 innings during that stretch. Next up for Liriano will be a start at the Metrodome against the Royals. Liriano is 10-2 in 21 career appearances at the Metrodome (14 starts). He's also 1-1 against the Royals in two starts this season.
Twins are on a mission to catch the CWS and aren't going to lose at home.
