the only thing I know about women's hoops is that UCONN is the greatest thing since sliced bread, probably the best team ever, but Vegas knows that too and Vegas knows that we know, everybody knows you know

Of course, "Women" have a "final four"

i didn't even know women had a final 4 tourny too???

Women must have everything Men have our they will "pout & cry".

They have a selection committee; they have a "sweet Sixteen"; they have an "elite eight & and a "final four". (They don't, however, have an injury report and they don't advise as to which "athlete" is riding the cotton saddle at game time). The feminists wouldn't hear of it.

Most sports fans don't know that they, "girls & womens basketball", play with a "smaller" ball (a "biddy or jr ball"), including the the "WNBA", which, by-the-way, is subsized by the NBA (the WNBA couldn't make it on it's own). Have you noticed that they never mention the fact that girls/women play with a smaller than "regulation size" ball.

If "girls and womens" basketball would use a regulation sized ball they would look more stupid then they do know.

Womens sports has come a long way and it is here to stay.....we don't have a choice; it was rammed down the throats of the Sports World (remember the advent ot Title 9). So now we have to put up with this "crap" in the name of equality or, we can look the other way which most "purests" of the sport do.

You sir, are ignorant.

p.s. want stupid?
You and Maya Moore 1 on 1 to 21 points. I'll give Maya Moore a regulation NBA orange ball, and spot you 20 points.

Easy "Billy Boy"; start talking Apples and Apples ...and act your age. I'm talking "girls basketball" not some singled-out amazon who probably should submit to a saliva test to prove her feminity.

If you think "she" could match one of her contemportories from mens basketball in a shootout using a "regulation size" ball, [you] ought to promote the event to prove your point; the event would be quite a draw like most boy/girl confrontations (golf, tennis).

I'm afraid that TV wouldn't touch that "special" with a 10 ft poll; it would expose "girls" basket ball for what it is.

I'm not demeaning "female" athletes and there sport(s).
Just pointing out a "few" things.

P.S. I watched "A League of Their Own" no less then a half a dozen times on TV and I can't wait for the re-runs of "Million Dollar Baby" (I don't like the part at the end with the injury that ended her career).

By the way, women's softball/baseball uses regulation size balls (the same with golf, tennis and ping-pong etc).

Hey guys, I don't give a shit about womens sports other than making money from it. Now let's talk about which picks are likely to be profitable. OU -4 and UCONN -10 look too easy. Surely someone here bets on this shit, and can chime in on the value of these bets.

I do, OU looks like a solid play, giving 10 points to a potent Stanford team is risky business.
Stanford has in the past given UCONN fits, and could keep this game tonight within single digits.

Best of luck Paddy :toast:

Ok, thanks billhill. I will be on OU -4 then. I say I dont give a shit about womens sports, but I actually enjoyed watching OU the other night. That big center (Paris) for OU is fun to watch.

I don't think he is demeaning women atheletes at all. It is true, the women have tried their best to copy what has worked so well in mens cbb. FYI any D-1 school that has a D-1 sports program for men has to have some sport at the D-1 level for women. A great example is a local college near me has a very solid D-1 mens soccer program that won it all almost 30yrs ago, to keep all things equal the same college had to put in a D-1 water polo program for the women. Needless to say the water polo program is a $$$ burner.

It's tough to bet against Connecticut and Oklahoma. They are both much better then the field and seemed meant to meet in the Championship.

The only minor concerns I have are that first of all the public will be all over both of these. However, that being said their isn't much of a public for womens hoops and Vegas usually takes a bath in the womens tourny anyway.

The one thing that concerns me about Connecticut is that Appel has been playing out of her mind and has an advantage inside against Connecticut. They are going to have to stop her if they want to cover this 10 point spread. However, Uconn does have enough big bodies to get her into foul trouble or atleast make her work inside.

I just couldn't put my money on any side other then the Huskies and Sooners. For now I am on the Sooners -3.5 but depending on the outcome may move on to the Huskies as well.

.

It has nothing to do with demeaning our mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, nieces, grandaughers etc; it has everything to do with how much womens sports was rammed down the throats of the sports world, many times at the expenses of long standing boys/mens programs (the University of Wisconsin Mens baseball program was eliminarted, years ago, to make room for womens programs).

Now....bring on that re-run of "Million Dollar Baby" so I can fall in love with with that female boxer (again). God, she was good, even if she was only [playing] the part of a female boxer.

UCONN has never faced a team like Stanford all season.
I'm the biggest UCONN homer on the boards, but giving the Card 10 points is dangerous.
