WNBA eoy and playoffs

I'm going to start posting my plays for the rest of the year and tracking the results. I've been playing the girl's games for three seasons now and have a pretty good feel for how they are gonna go. This season I started slow and clawed my way back until the last two weeks before the break when I got hot and won about 60 units. There are a few more variables now with some players in the Olympics but most players not. It will be interesting to see what diff that makes. I'll post my picks on Thursday cuz the lines may change. Anyone know who offers the earliest action on the opening lines? My spots don't take em til 9am game day and it has hurt me on a few occasions.

Thursday WNBA

Indy -2.5 Catchings is back in shape following the Olympics and I expect them to pick up the pace a bit. Phillips is back for Conn. and will add a boost.

NYL -8.5 Rookie Fowles is back to full strength and will give her team a lift.

Phx -1.5 No Penny Taylor and no Tangela Smith for Phx will make it tough for their traditional late season run.

Sea -4.5 Sea lost Jackson to injury and might lose Cash as well.

LA -5 Fresh from China LA should roll. Brunson had knee surgery Aug 6.

Wash -3.5 This team is in disarray as usual. They are in rebuilding mode after trading their 2nd leading scorer and leading rebounder in Taj.

Conn -8 Sun looked impressive last night without needing Whalen to score.

Det -5 Still feeling the effects of the brawl. Taj should help toughen the front court

Looks like folks prefer to lose money capping a league with 120 teams..(a losing proposition, any mathematician would tell ya) vs
betting a small WNBA league with so much consistency its ridiculous.

Tonight we have 3 teams all on the road all on a back to back i am tempted to fade all of them.

I will not play Atlanta-8. They probably cover but Conn is too good for them even on a back to back. Like it or not Atlanta will have some rust on them.

I really like Was-4..(it may be at 5.5 at some books)

I dont see how they lose that to a team they have totally dominated.

Wash lost TAJ mcwilliams, the second leading scorer replaced by Humphries from Detriot.

Then detriot takes on NY. Again i like detriot but Pierson is still on suspension.

Taj Mcwillians who they got from Wash has typically dominated this team.

I think i will play the two home teams here..

Ps... You have to fade Conn on sunday night no matter the line when they play seattle.. (i know i will)

You are forgetting two golden rules on some of your games tonight..

Firstly...

In WNBA, home court advantage rules the day. If you are posting in this forum right now while all the others are in a silly money burning frenzy betting college football and NFL preseason then i believe you know this.

All the road teams here are on a back to back which leads to the second golden rule of the wnba.

A majority of teams on a back to back almost never cover at a ridiculous clip (i think its some where at a 70% clip..not scientific but i think its some where there)


REason to fade Conn is because, they probably will be the one team to cover the back to back road game tonight against ATL..

But...... they will be playing their 3rd game in 4 nights on sunday. That would be a goldent opportunity to fade a tired team facing a rested team.

In this instance B to B is a plus. It's an unusual situation (having just had a month off). Most teams looked rusty last night. All five games went under. So I expect Chi to be sharper than Wash and Conn to be sharper than Atl. Also the Sun were able to rest Whalen in a blowout win last night.
