HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Houston Comets try to avoid matching the longest losing streak in team history on Saturday when they host the Los Angeles Sparks at the Toyota Center.
The Comets have lost consecutive games for the first time this season. They lost a franchise-record three straight regular-season games to finish the 2003 campaign.
Houston opened a three-game homestand with a 71-62 victory over the New York Liberty on Thursday.

Los Angeles had its first winning streak of the season snapped with a 68-51 road loss to the Sacramento Monarchs on Thursday.
Mwadi Mabika scored 11 points but was the only player in double figures for the Sparks. Superstar Lisa Leslie managed only four points on 2-of-7 shooting due to foul trouble.
