I think the Lions WR combo of Williams and Rogers should make for an interesting turn around in Detroit...

Harrington may feel like he's back at Oregon

"Blitzburgh"

Kevin Greene returns

Former Steelers linebacker Kevin Greene, one of the NFL's all-time sack leaders, will work with the outside linebackers for two weeks as a visiting coach. Greene played with the Steelers from 1993-95 and is eighth on the team's all-time sack list with 35 1/2.

Marcus Robinson was a bust with Baltimore , he did have some big games but was not the go to guy the Ravens needed...I saw his games, Robinson was mainly a jump ball receiver...He did play better down the stretch after Boller got hurt...He seemed to team better with the backup who he played with in college...

@ Minnesota I am sure he will have more opportunity.

Looking to see how Vick does this year, and if he can take the beating he will get if he doesnt stay in the pocket.

Also, looking to see how C Dillion does with the Pats.

Rooting for K. Warner and Eddie George to get the starting nod and have good years. More of a root against Eli for his draft day s**t.

And one other root against, K. Winslow Jr. Nothing needs to be said about this clown.

I'm looking forward to TO going across the middle and making Ray Lewis look stupid on Halloween.

I think Coach Lovie Smith and the Urlacher headed defense will ring some bells this season.
I mean the 1st year rookies last year made an impact, LB Lance Briggs CB C.Tillman.

Rex Grossman started three games in 2003, throwing two TDs and one INT.
But those same friends who warned Smith about the ups and downs of coaching also knew he's be a good coach because of how he would react. He'll continue the program he's committed to. Of the seven new coaches, Smith is probably making the most radical changes, remaking the Bears body and soul. They are going from a read-and-react system under Dick Jauron to the attacking style of the Cover 2 defense. On offense they are changing from the Chinese torture drill of the short passes of last season to the down-the-field aggressive offense used by the Rams, Chiefs and others.

For all of this to work, though, Smith asked his players to give a little this offseason for their own good. He wanted pounds, lots and lots of pounds. Lovie Smith surpassed Jenny Craig, Atkins, South Beach and Weight Watchers as the most effective weight-loss expert.

The idea behind the reduction is two-fold, stress quickness and speed along with generating energy. It's no different than what Tony Dungy did in Indianapolis when he had his defensive linemen lose 15 to 20 pounds during his first season there. The defensive scheme in Chicago is built on quickness. It stresses defensive linemen shooting through the gaps and linebackers flowing to the football. What worked in Tampa Bay and Indianapolis should work eventually in Chicago.

But like any change, it will take time for success and that's where Smith has a slight problem. Chicago's opening schedule is ridiculous, three opening NFC North games including road trips to Green Bay and Minnesota followed by Philadelphia (home), Washington (home) and Tampa Bay (road), three potential playoff teams. By the time defenders adjust to their new thin bodies and Grossman has the offense on the same page, the Bears could be 1-5 or 2-4.

I'm siked to see the aug 20 game between philly and baltimore! especially after reading this:

(here are some excerpts, the full story is at sportsline.)

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Well, now we have an exhibition game worth watching, and it's that Aug. 20 start involving Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Owens didn't exactly endear himself to Lewis -- or the Ravens -- when he talked his way out of a trade to Baltimore this spring. And he dug himself in deeper last weekend when he said Lewis was "not the hardest hitter that ever played the game of football" and insisted he wasn't "going to shy away from my style of play vs. his style of play."
* *
"Let me tell you something real quick," Lewis said, "I never proclaimed to be the hardest hitter. Second and foremost, tell T.O. to keep my name out of his mouth. I play football for the Baltimore Ravens. We are not in his division. I don't care nothing about this guy. Why does he need me to make his reputation?

"Tell him I'm tired of that. I play football. And, sooner or later, no matter how much he talks about what he's not scared to do, he still has to line up and play football."

It was then that a teammate, walking by Lewis on his way to the locker room, leaned in and said "three catches, 23 yards." Those were Owens' numbers against Baltimore last year when the Ravens drilled San Francisco 44-6.

"Three catches for 23 yards," Lewis repeated. "That's what he had when he played us last year, so nothing's different. I don't entertain what he says. I'm here to win a championship."
* * * *
"Ray knows the game, he's been in the game a long time and he's seen a lot of guys," said safety Ed Reed, who is close to Lewis. "T.O. is just another guy.
* *
"Everybody is boosting up T.O., but I don't know what he did. He hasn't done anything yet. It's not like he won the Super Bowl or anything like that. T.O. is a nobody. We shut him down: three for 23 yards. He's nothing."

If nothing happens in the Aug. 20 game -- and both sides probably will play their starters sparingly -- the Ravens return to Philadelphia on Oct. 31. Appropriately, it's Halloween.
