With no clear cut mvp in AL, is Giambi making a push for AL MVP?

Obviously nobody is seeing this so I will put it to rest. I appreciate the kind words from people such as Greenhead on this topic who I would challenge to any sort of knowledge or capping comp any time. Anyway, when Giambi finishes in top 10 or higher in mvp voting, I will pull this thread up.

Mr Kojak,my friend you got my attention. Are you challenging me to any type of capping, any gambling sport, for any type of money. If you are (be-careful)I will respond.GREENHEAD

greenhead,

In fact you are correct. I find it funny that I bring a topic up for discussion that people who never respond in my threads pop out of the woodwork to be complete pricks. Some of the guys that I know are simply razzing me but others like yourself and a few others put me down for a topic discussion. You let me know what you want to do. Win or lose I will let that do my talking!

Kojak you saying Giambi for MVP was just stupid. As for letting me pick the sport and amount that wouldnt be fair (trust me) it would be a big "class" disadvantage to you.Sorry for the bad words, just shocked at 4 in the morning what I was reading.GREENHEAD

Greenhead,

No problem! I won't back down to the challenge if you want but we can do it as a gentlemen's bet or a wager. I respect the work you do on here and I don't disrespect others regardless of opinion. I appreciate the apology and it is accepted.

okokok, im not gonna sit here and sasy giambi is the mvp... BUT... i see where kojak is coming from...

think about it, MVP mean most valuable player... when did the yanks start coming around.. WHEN GIAMBI STARTED HITTING!!!!

so if the yanks make the playoffs giambi is a very big part of that... so yes i see where kojak is coming from ... but MO or AROD would get it in my mind over him from the yanks

Kojak,

I won't pile on. Giambi had a good month. and a good last 2 days in this entire season.

If he had 50 home runs, the writers wouldn't vote for him, let alone with the shit stats he does have.

That being said, you don't deserve to be crushed based on one dumb post.

greenhead,

First of all, I don't bet 10 dimes on a game or no of anyone that even bets a minimum 10 dimes and I know quite a few people who gamble for a living that don't bet this amount as a minimum on a game. If you want to be realistic, fine if not, I guess I forfeit for a lack of 10 dimes.

ARTICLE FROM ESPN TODAY, I think Kojack's isn't off his rocker, just making some good points.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/quickie

The Lead Item
Two Words For You:

YANKEE. PRIDE.

Jason Giambi for AL MVP?!?!

2 more HR, 4 RBI on Monday:
That's 4 and 11 in 2 games.

If New York somehow passes the Red Sox for the division title, voters have to consider the unthinkable: Giambi for MVP.

I'm even more inclined to give him MVP than Comeback Player of the Year, which feels funny given exactly what he's coming back from.

But delivering top-5 OPS and a division crown (after that brutal start?!) would put him right in the MVP mix, along with A-Rod, Vlad and Big Papi.

Of course, Vlad's Angels and Papi's Red Sox could finish with September swoons, hardly MVP-ish. And voters and fans may like A-Rod even less than Giambi.

And there's still time for a slump like the one Giambi was riding for 19 games until Sunday.

But, wait! What's this I heard from Giambi on Monday night about a cortisone shot that seemed to sort out the tendinitis that was holding him back?

Right: "Cortisone."
For "tendinitis."
(Insert air quotes yourself.)

See: Semi-serious jokes like that symbolize why Giambi will never be considered a legit MVP candidate in 2005, if ever again.

Even though he's earned it.

Kojak, you must be hitting the crackpipe

He is putting up very good numbers in the last few weeks. He has been a big part of the surge for the yankees putting them back in the race for the AL East. However, the rest of the guys are correct. He hasn't been consistent enough this year compared to A-rod and Sheff.

Kojak, I do think you are one of the sharpest people here. However, as much as I love Giambi, I must admit that you are high here, and I have a better chance of winning the WSOP than he does of winning the mvp. Thanks for the drama, my chick wasn't cutting it tonight.
