With Montreal now going to D.C. will that effect the O's in a bad way?

I Can Understand Why Baltimore Would Not Want The Expos In Washington Dc, From A Business Perspective. A New Rivalry Would Be Great For The Game But The Orioles Are Sure To Lose Fans. Those Two Cities Are So Danm Close. Ive Made It Between Washington And Baltimore In Like 20 Minutes With Moderate Traffic.

This will KILL the Orioles already declining attendance.....This move has been feared by Orioles ownership for years...Rumors of a team moving to Northern Va. or D.C. have been swirling for quite some time....The Orioles have marketed themselves as a 'regional' team refusing to even put the city name BALTIMORE on its road jersey, something that has ticked off die hard O's fans for years also...

The team was never in better shape when Camden Yards was built back in 1991, but now the novelty of the stadium has worn off, and the Orioles are still just mediocre club with a meddling non baseball man as its owner, meandering in another sub par season ...its only going to get much worse....

Angelos is a high profile attorney who is already threatening a lawsuit and wants guaranteed revenue from MLB to protect his franchise....and MLB appears to be willing to do just that...but, as far as will this be a good thing for Baltimore's fan base, the answer is absolutely not! There can't be a rivalry between the two clubs Montreal is a National League team....Orioles attendance from D.C. is estimated at 25% ....

I did not see it, but I have heard the agreement is a certainty ...I guess MLB knows it would lose in a lawsuit in this situation.....I haven't heard the financial details though...I cannot imagine what kind of agreement is in place though...What is MLB going to do, are they going to pay the O's for the rest of time???? It seems like a very unusal agreement considering the circumstnaces and other MLB teams...Who knows maybe it works to the O's advantage...I am curous what the arraingement will be...I am guessing MLB will agree to compensate the O's based on projected profits, but is this a forever deal,lol...just seems strange to me MLB would agree to this...

I wonder if the Spos will trade in that name and colors?

I wouldnt mind seeing a brand new name or go back to the Old Senators name...Expos just doesnt seem to fit...its been an eyesore for MLB for too long anyway...I am all for the move, I think its an exciting thing for baseball.

This is good for the Baltimore club..Will create more interest in baseball and both will benefit. All Angelos wants is free money and he will get it.. These two facts are my humble but accurate opinion...

First off the name Senators still is owned by the Rangers. Second I doubt Orioles are hurt much in attendance but that doesn't mean much. They lose on TV and radio rights a far more important revenue stream for teams these days.
