Oklahoma (17-2) vs LSU (13-7) – 5:00 PM- TV – ESPN
Line: LSU+4.5 Over/Under: 164.5
Saturday 1/30/2016 – Pete Maravich Assembly Center
The Oklahoma Sooners will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to visit the Tigers as they seek a three game winning streak. The Sooners second loss of the season came last Monday on the road at the hands of Iowa State and they have been rolling since winning their next two games by double digits. LSU has not met the expectations of the public this season with Ben Simmons however they do seem to perform against elite teams. LSU is also looking for their third straight win after beating both Alabama and Georgia.
The Sooners are averaging 85.8 points per game (4th) and are allowing 71.4 to opponents (174th). The Sooners are shooting 47.7% from the field (33rd) and 46.7% from three point range (1st). Defensively the Sooners are allowing teams to shoot 39% from the field (23rd) and 31.7% from three point range (62nd). Buddy Hield (Senior) leads the team averaging 25.9 points per game. Oklahoma is 9-8 ATS overall and 6-7 ATS as a favorite. They are 3-3 ATS in road games and 7-7 ATS against teams with a winning record.
The Tigers are averaging 81.3 points per game (30th) and are allowing 75.6 to opponents (266th). The Tigers are shooting 46.9% from the field (47th) and 34.7% from three point range (193rd). Defensively the Tigers are allowing teams to shoot 43.7% from the field (212th) and 34.7% from three point range (193rd). Ben Simmons (Freshman) leads the team averaging 19.8 points per game. LSU is 5-13 ATS overall and 2-4 ATS as an underdog. They are 4-6 ATS in home games and 3-9 ATS against teams with a winning record.
To say LSU has been a money burner may just be an understatement however the team did step up their game when Kentucky came to town. Due to the Ben Simmons recruit, the LSU lines were way over inflated in the beginning of the season. Ben Simmons receives criticism to this day for picking LSU over schools like Kentucky and Kansas and wants to shut everyone up. His team stepped up for him against Kentucky and they should do the same against an elite ranked Oklahoma squad at home.
Free Pick: LSU +4.5
