Here goes the 2nd in a series of 7 season previews. I loved the comments on EMU, lets hear what you have to say about the Badgers.
September 5 - Northern Illinois
Beware of the MAC. NIU has had this game marked down all summer and are working hard to pull off the upset. But Camp Randall Stadium is no Rynearson Stadium and the Huskies will fall.
Final Score: Wiskey 27 NIU 10
1-0
September 12- Fresno St
In a great scheduling tactic by Coach Bielema, the Badgers will kick off at 11:00 AM local time, 9:00 Fresno time. The fans will be jumping around ready to go and the Bulldogs will have no answer. Look for this game to be an ugly game that Wiskey will pull off.
Final Score: Wiskey 17 Fresno St. 13
2-0
September 19 - Wofford
As in game one, beware of the D I-AA teams. Wofford is a very good team in the Southern Conference and their triple option attack will give Wisconsin fits. This game might set a record for quickest game as both teams like to pound the rock.
Final Score: Wiskey 20 Wofford 10
3-0
September 26 - Michigan St
The first real test of the season comes in week 4 in the Big Ten opener. Spartan fans are drinking some serious kool-aid and are hoping for a Big Ten championship. But it always seems in years where the potential is there, the play doesn't follow.
Final Score: Wiskey 20 Sparty 17
4-0 (1-0)
October 3 @ Minnesota
I guarantee that this will be the ESPN2 game at noon ET and there will be a woman doing the play by play. There probably won't be too many people watching this game outside of Wisconsin and Minnesota, but it is an important game for the Badgers. Coming off of the high from the Sparty win, the Badgers can't get it going.
Final Score: Minnesota 27 Wiskey 17
4-1 (1-1)
October 10 @ Ohio St
Ohio St doesn't lose games in the Big Ten against good teams (so that gives Michigan a chance this year). They will lose a stinker to Illinois or Iowa, but never to Penn St or Wisconsin. Too much talent on the Buckeyes and the game is in the 'shoe.
Final Score: Ohio St. 24 Wiskey 10
4-2 (1-2)
October 17 - Iowa
The seat is getting hot in Madison now for Coach Bielema. Coach Alvarez was winning ten games a year and now he's the boss and isn't liking what he is seeing. Iowa is a team that is greatly improved and looking to take over the Camp. Badgers fans will be too drunk to realize their team is sliding quickly.
Final Score: Iowa 27 Wiskey 24
4-3 (1-3)
October 31 - Purdue
Mr. Alvarez gives the team a pre-game pep talk telling them that if they want their coach to finish this season with them, they better get a W. The players respond to this pep talk and thrash the Boilermakers. Rumors start to swirl that Coach Alvarez is going to name himself the new coach.
Final Score: Wisconsin 31 Purdue 10
5-3 (2-3)
November 7 @ Indiana
Indiana fans are still fired up from Midnight Madness and go to the game for something to do, knowing their team sucks and they will be home for Christmas. In front of a half empty stadium, the Badgers have no problem with the Hoosiers.
Final Score: Wisconsin 34 Indiana 3
6-3 (3-3)
November 14 - Michigan
Michigan might not be ready to win a big road game. But this is still MICHIGAN playing against Wisconsin, a team they have dominated. Wisconsin has had this game marked on their calendars all year, wanting to bounce back from last years collapse and being referred to as one of the three teams that Michigan beat. In a cold, blistery afternoon, I hate to admit it, but Wiskey prevails.
Final Score: Wisconsin 17 Michigan 13
7-3 (4-3)
November 21 @ Northwestern
Northwestern is a dangerous team. They play a quick strike game that Wisconsin hasn't seen since week 2 against Fresno St. With Northwestern needing a win to become bowl eligible, the Wildcats get it done. Another ESPN2 game. Another female announcer (with Chris Spielman or Andre Ware).
Final Score: Northwestern 24 Wiskey 20
7-4 (4-4)
December 5 @ Hawaii
Why doesn't Hawaii come up north to play a game in December? And how are they automatically put in the Hawaii Bowl every year? Anyways, I don't think Hawaii will be very good this year. I still have the clips of Jimmy Clausen just throwing the ball as far as he can and there being no Hawaii defenders in sight. Nice trip to end the season and it ends with a win. Wrubel takes his wife on their honeymoon to Hawaii....little did she know they were going to a football game.
Final Score: Wisconsin 27 Hawaii 10
8-4 (4-4)
The season is going to end with another Champs Sports Bowl, hopefully they show up this year.
