Wireless router went out???? Help??

My router which is only a few months old quit working suddenly a few days ago. I tried to reset it and the modem. Then the router will work for a few minutes and then go out. The wireless signal is strong. When I try to repair the connection it says that it cant renew ip address. Any suggestions?

r u positive that the router is out? Cuz if it isnt...then windows maybe having a hard time trying to renew an IP address...cuz if thats the case, then thats easily resolved by manually putting in your own IP 192.168.x.x

See if you can find a firmware upgrade for your wireless router. These things are such a pain in my ass....CHEAP JUNK!!!

Also, try shutting down your DSL\cable router and your wireless router. Power up the DSl\cable router-wait about a minute, then power up the wireless....see if that helps.

it wasnt wireless but it was the same problem i had awhile back.My router for my dsl was out and i couldnt figure for the life of me why.It ended up being the phone line that ran from my wall to my router was under the rug and had gotten wet and the line was bad.I had a tech come out and he changed out the phone cord and i was good to go.Not sure if this can be your solution, just thought i would share.
