That in mind, I do think that public schools should make a point of teaching about Christmas but also about other major religious holidays (not all of them, silly.) In my Catholic high school, we took a course on world religions. The more we know about each other, the less fearful we are.

You answered your own question right there. Every grade school and high school in the States (both public and private) has to have some kind of world history/social studies cirriculum for their students. Each one also usually has an in-house library. If a student is really itching to learn about other cultures, then they can either pay attention in class...or trek off to the room with lots of books.

If you make a claim, you back it up. Don't ask me to prove something that I never claimed in the first place.

How should I go about proving this...by listing every country around the globe and opining about how tolerant they are towards religion? You tried (and failed) to disprove my hypothesis by quickly laughing it off...so I'm guessing that was nothing more than your anti-Americanism.

Therefore, I'll ask again. Can you show me one country anywhere in the world who is MORE tolerant than the USA with respect to religious freedom? I can't, so I'm asking someone who thinks they can to prove me wrong.

I'm sure there are places that are as tolerant, or as intolerant as the USA.
(depending on your viewpoint)

I am more interested in freedom FROM religion than freedom OF religion.

I can see it eventually getting like smoking or alcohol or dope or sex.
You can do it, but its illegal in public places.
A total ban on all advertising etc etc, no exceptions.

That would also be useful for reducing the spread of religious whackism, Islamic, Christian, etc.

Heh?? If you can't prove a statement, don't make the statement. You assert something around these parts, you'd better be prepared to back it up. Asking me to do your homework for you is pure bullshít and you bloody well know it.

I didn't 'laugh off' your 'hypothesis' ... I said it was crap and challenged you to prove it. Which you can't. Which is why I won't say unequivocally that Canada is more religiously tolerant than the US. I will say that I think Canada is more tolerant than the US.

There's your example.
