Long Beach State fan throws a coke at Mcalister, they clean it up. no T on LBST is called. 10 minutes later an alleged UCI fan throws a water bottle at Jerry Scotts head, rightfully so becasue it was the worse call ever, but Jerry calls a 2 shot Technical on UCI. These refs called 7 staight traveling calls on Irvine. 7 possessions, 7 straight traveling calls. UCI blew a 22-4 lead. Douglass sat Zuzak first 26 minutes of the game. I made a ML play on UCI. Im done until March Madness, I need a month off.

Thats a good guess, tell the guys in the hoops forum Ill be back for March Madness, Im taking a month off. Douglass did not care about this game, he never had more than 2 starters in at one time. I guess only thing that matters is confrence tourney anyway.

Anyway, I knew you picked Irvine in the College Hoops forum. And I knew Irvine blew a 22-4 lead. When you complained about the refs, I took an educated guess. Kinda tough to blow a 22-4 lead unless the refs are "helping" the other team.

You KNOW the big worst refs BLOW and that EVERY game they will make numerous calls that leave you wondering if they are watching the same game as you. I heard about that situation you described – and it doesn’t shock me. And as you point out – would not shock me if it was a LB fan wearing a UCI shirt. Several years ago when fullerton hosted UNLV in a game – some fans threw something on the court. The warning went off. A few minutes later – something was thrown on the court and fullerton got a “T” – only it was a UNLV fan who threw it. So this guy helped his team and hurt fullerton – just what he wanted to do.
I will also say it shows that betting on UCI is DUMB! This is easily THE MOST unpredictable team i have ever seen. They NEVER play 40 full minutes. As we saw Saturday – they played a great 20 minutes – up 11 – then laid an egg the 2nd 20 minutes (and 5 in OT) and lost a game they should have won by 2B digits.
ANY conference that allows refs like jim stupin and terry tackett to ref is one that is laughable. What is even funnier is that from all I have heard – tackett is one of the top rated officials in the BW. SAY WHAT!? To me – terry tackett shouldn’t be allowed to watch a game let alone ref it. He is so pathetic it is embarrassing.
As long as the big west allows 3rd rate officials to ref its game – it can’t be shocked to know it, too, is nothing more then a 3rd rate conference. I have spoken to rob halvaks every Sunday when I ref his kid’s NJB games @ Univ HS (Irvine) and have done so for so long I no longer do it – because I know it won’t help.
For everyone out there who bets Big West hoops – please keep in mind doing so carries a HUGE risk – because the officials are so freaking bad they decide games with calls you have to see to believe – and once you see them – you won’t believe them.
