I'm going to bed in a few but let's dissect this sucker and try and get everyone's opinions on what probably is the game of the year so far this season before they drop the puck tomorrow. I'll chime in with my .02 then. Thoughts?

Bump. I'm hoping for a few good replies to this thread, better than what my 2 cents would be.

Bushay, I think it you mentioned yesterday about looking for "when one team has another's number". Along that line of thinking, it's noted at goliepost.com that Nabokov is 0-3-0, 6.35 GAA his last 4 at home against Detroit.

I like sj here. Detroit has played phenomenally this year and only have one loss in reg. (to the leafs), but this they are in their fourth game of this road trip and all of the previous three have gone into OT. In two of the three they were down in the final minute, but Zetterberg has goals in the final 1:30 against LA and ANA. I just think this road trip will catch up with them here, as they play one of the top teams in the NHL.

I'll say a 3-1 SJ win.

I'd feel much better if Franzen were in the lineup but Detroit is so deep it almost seems at times like with the quality guys on the bench that don't get too many minutes, so when an injury occurs or a long road trip....maybe they dont feel it like a lot of the other teams do. Fatigue wise. You guys understand what I'm trying to say? Than again...maybe I'm way off base.

I believe this game is a coin-flip... I love these situations and I take the dog 98% of the time. Detroit is where I find my value tonight. BOL whichever side you decide to choose.

You know where I stand. The coaching angle, the interview I heard yesterday with JR, Sharks look at this game as a measuring stick, Wings played a very physical game last night, Wings play their 6th game in 9 days, 3rd in 4, b2b, etc.

San Jose in regulation +109

Im riding the sharks. Games you can expect a full effort out of any team are rare, this one seems one of them. Sharks looking to see where they're at as a team, they're rested and should get some sick support by the home fans while they get in the wings off a game last night and 3 in 4 nights.

No one concerned about Nabokov. He gave up 4 goals, 4 goals, 6 goals and 4 goals and then 1 goal when Pitt only took 10 shots. Over does tempt me.

Don't use last night's game against the Ducks as a measuring stick for the Wings either. Anaheim, as I mentioned in another thread, scored 3 pp goals last night and two of them were scored while Detroit was short two men. Bottom line, if the Red Wings stay disciplined and stay out of the box, they win this one by two goals. San Jose can't stay with Detroit even strength.
