Oldmantime, I thought you were in the 6gig 350mhz 320 megs of ram cattagory....

I agree with you Jaypaw, learning is key to avoiding the rath of the Gateways and Dells.


I mentioned Dell because it is one of the best NO BRAINER <<<(people who don't want to or don't have the time to learn) PC's out there, I haven't heard many bad thing's about them... In a nut shell, I was trying to give Oldmantime an easy way out

If he is willing, the best route would be to learn, research and shop for his own parts online or at a local PC shop.

No1, I only have 128mb ram.

I personally would rather pay a little more and get one of the better name companies. HP when I bought ny first computer 4 years ago had a good reputation. I don't know if it is as good these days. Plus--the first year-(when under warranty for free service from them, they were VERY helpfull on the phone with a total idiot!) More than Ican say for a lot of companies out there.
