Holy cow! How does one guy score 100 pts! That would mean the rest of the team is useless...

I have seen Vashon play live, and he is truly unbelievable. If he ever gets Michael Jordan type of fire in his eyes, he will score 70 some day.

When I saw him play in college, he was teammates with Michael Finley. And at that time he was considered to be the best player on the Minnesota team. Had some size and range.

You are right. I just get confused by those Big 10 schools in northern states. They did play together though.

100 points from a 7 foot African~American All~star vs. mainly 6 foot+ white guys is really impressive.........

Wilt would get dominated by this recent era of centers.....

Sorry scorekeeper, I may of exaggerated just a bit, but I'm a firm believer that yester~years players in any sport cannot compete with todays, and 20 years from now, as bad as I will want to admit it, those players would dominate players from my current era.........

We have been over this ground before. I watched Wilt play against Bill Russell several times in his first two years in the league, believe me there is not a center, (including Shaq) who could handle him in today's NBA. The night Wilt scored 100 he played against 3 different 2nd rate Knick centers, and for once made his foul shots, I believe he hit 28 of 32.

Do you think Andy Pettitte or Roy Halladay could hang an 0 for 4 on Ted Williams or Stan Musial? Would a 25 year old Willie Mays play center as well as Tori Hunter? What heavyweight boxer today, would be favored over Joe Louis in his prime? The only thing different today is the size of players, and the equipment they use. In the NFL the players have outgrown the game, thats why we see so many injuries these days, the human body is not built to absorb the punishment that they are subject to in todays game. The NBA is a joke, who can shoot, maybe 10% of the whole league. The players are not bettter, they are just bigger, and in some cases faster, I doubt very much if they are smarter.

Take last night, Tracy McGrady of the Magic, one of the so-called stars of today on a bad team, shoots 12 for 31 from the floor. This guy would be a bench warmer on the better NBA clubs in the early 80's.

IMHO. wil.
