Just wondering if the big favorites will still run up the score as in years past or save there big guns for the next game due to the new playoff system.

they will have to, its about resumes when it comes down to it. The more points you score the more your talked about, the more you win the more your in the media. The question is how will the committee look at close competive loses with 1 and 2 team losers.

fairly intelligent committee and running up the score, IMO, will have little swaying power. it helped in coaches poll in the past because those guys are voting on weekly scores and not actually watching the teams. baylor winning by 22 or 38 over SMU won't do them much good because the committee already knows their schedule is total shit and will be walking into the season knowing that if baylor loses a game, they're toast. putting up 720 yards this week is nice for the record books but only if they do it against OU and Okie State

Hard to say what's going to happen when they gather in the Star Chamber and start ironing all of this out. The one thing i want to see is clarity. I want to know how each of these committee members votes for these teams. If we start seeing the majority of the votes going down previous conference affiliation lines, then this grand experiment may not work that well. At least not with just 4 teams in the playoff. An 8 team playoff would have taken most of the possible controversy out of it.

GS this has already been publicized....there are specific teams and conferences committee members must leave the room when discussing. i haven't seen the list but i know it's been ironed out

my point is, much like NCAA tourney, SOS and results vs top class programs will come far more into play than how badly baylor can beat prairie view or iowa state or smu. teams that run it up are just wearing down their players for more important games to come

In the interest of disclosure, I'm a 'Dore alum and athlete, so I think I'd be speaking from a relative and stable platform in stating unequivacolly that Skip Bayless should have been on the committee. <grin> I will say this without any trepidation that should Stanford finish 11-1, maybe even 10-2 might cause just a little constipation, they're in. NOW, I'm just say'in, be'in a lowly guy from the lowliest of the SEC food chain (GS, now you really know why I'm a Sooner fan, lol). All the fun and games being stated, from what I'm reading, some of the coaches are taking SOS damn serious. Great article this week covering Dabo's comments about it all, he'd like Clemson to add another Top 20 noncon schedule to Georgia and the Cocks so it proves something. Folks, that's my kinda coach. You want the mountain, you should have to beat the best mountain climbers to take it.

Good thing Ron Zook isn't on the committee. They would be asking him to leave the room every 5 minutes...
